60 days is pushing it i think. Two full months of no bills getting paid is no beuno.

I'm not sure I understand what makes 60 days the magic number? None of this is normal. Cash flow in many sectors has all but stopped. If we 'restart' in 30, 60 or 90 days from now then what? I mean if we can do this and avert an economic calamity why can't we do it all the time? Just reset every year have the government provide us with unlimited cash flow?

Doesn't this increase put current unemployment around the 20% mark?
And it was about 25% at the peak of the Great Depression.

Just wait until things reopen and 10 million people are compeating for jobs that just aren't there anymore.
They will have to extend uc and this is a massive downward spiral.

Collapse is a rung down from a depression. During a collapse extreme chaos is the norm.
Heaven help us if we collapse.

from zerohedge....
"While not entirely surprising, the scale and suddenness of the collapse on confidence among American consumers is stunning.

The latest data from University of Michigan is a bloodbath...

The preliminary University of Michigan consumer sentiment survey for April fell to 71.0 vs. 89.1 prior month, largest monthly decline on record

Current economic conditions index fell to 72.4 vs. 103.7 last month; 31.3-point drop nearly double prior record decline of 16.6 points set in Oct. 2008

Expectations index fell to 70.0 vs. 79.7 last month

As of this writing, for the last 3 weeks, we have added 16.7 million to the unemployment ranks. The ONLY reason it is that low is because the backlog has caused unemployment websites to crash and phone calls to go unanswered. Lets wait until it gets down to a million a week claims to see where we are really at.

Bet we end up with an economic reset. By the time they get done with getting all the unemployed their $, they might as well make it a universal basic income and hit the rest button.
After all, we are locked down, can't do anything with the money except spend it on food and shelter and utilities.
And there won't be jobs for all us jobless when this chit ends.
