So they said on Fox News this morning that they are doing 600,000 tests a day now. (no wonder they new confirmed rates are going up...)

I see signs up as I drive around for "FREE COVID TESTING" all over everywhere.

How much is this costing us?

Well it wasn't free when dh's work crew had to get tested! Our doctors office has a testing unit in their parking lot so dh got in there and insurance covered it. The rest of his crew had to go elsewhere and paid something like $185 for their tests.

Some people are getting tested over and over again as a matter of course, whether they have knowingly been exposed or not. My sisters friend has been tested several times simply because she is scared. My point is all this "FREE" testing isn't free..

I have no intention of being tested or put in a hospital for Covid. I'll take my chances at home if I get it, which actually I'm pretty sure already had it. Hubby was in WuHan just before Christmas, I was coughing and so incredibly tired all of January.

Was this recent? Near Raleigh, lots and lots of free testing available. CVS is offering free testing

If you know that you have come in contact with a person who has C-19, why wouldn't you want to be tested?

Because you can be exposed immediately after testing negative, I see it pointless unless you have symptoms.

If you're not sick, why get tested? Perhaps the crooked dems are using the test numbers to jack up the cases? These days test numbers = # of new covid cases.

Bingo! Strangely enough they are not reporting that the deaths are not going up...

DS and DDIL got tested, yesterday. One of DIL's coworkers came to work sick with C-19. She worked side by side with DIL all day. Only after she had worked all day did she decide to get tested. She was positive. Now, DS and DIL are in quarantine, until their tests come back. Both DS's and DDIL's companies paid for their tests. If DS and DDIL come down with it, they are both very healthy and strong, so I don't foresee any complications. They both know that sometimes tests can show a false negative if you aren't showing symptoms, so they have decided to quarantine for a 2 week period. They can both work from home with pay. If they begin to show symptoms, they will get retested.

Meanwhile, it's still hard to get tests for symptomatic people in some states. Even those who work in healthcare .

Hope they are OK. SIL and BIL are both infections disease docs and working with Covid patients and most everyone they see are very mild even those who are high risk.

Got tested myself yesterday. County maintains a list of testing facilities. Went to one of those doc in the box places in a nearby shopping center / medical complex.

They said they took med insurance so all I had to pay was my regular copay. I don't know yet (and won't for a few weeks) what they billed the insurance company or what the insurance company paid. I did not need an outside Rx, I guess because they have a doc in the facility.

On the down side, it was first come, first serve so it was almost three hours in total, mostly waiting outside.
On the positive side, they didn't use the nasal probe that everyone was talking about, just a different type near the front of the nose - this one tickled.
