Ad eundum quo nemo ante iit...
Today's FNC live airing of the WH press briefing started with a video of the violence in Portland. The coverage abruptly ended, going back to Harris Faulkner (Outnumbered Overtime) who said FNC management has decided to break away from the coverage... the video contained graffiti on the base of a damaged statue that said "F*** COPS".

What a bunch of crap.

ETA... FNC has resumed coverage of the briefing as of 1255 CST. Still a bunch of crap that they temporarily cut away coverage.

Talk is cheap
They missed it more than once in the recent past. Have seen that and likewise shown on the news as of late. It gave me pause, but these days, almost nothing's shocking. The footage of those decimated areas with all the work of the spray-paint artists is *&^% ugly. Is this really America?

If the reports are going over broadcast fox affiliates I think they have to make a attempt to not broadcast profanity spoken or written to complying with fcc requirements.
So might need to loosen the tin foil a bit.

Fox News Abruptly Cuts Off Briefing After Kayleigh McEnany Plays Footage Showing ‘F*ck Cops’ Graffiti at Protests

Fox News pulled away the White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany’s press briefing for a moment Friday afternoon after “not anticipating” a video of violence during protests that featured graffiti that read “F*ck cops” on a toppled statue.

The video, projected on two screens to the room of reporters, showed videos of flames and other torn down statues. In one clip, a protester said, “I hope somebody kills your whole [bleep] family. I hope they kill you, too. I hope somebody burns down your whole precinct with all y’all inside. Can’t wait to see it,” directed at officers.

As McEnany continued, saying “As you can see, that is anything but a peaceful protest, Fox, which regularly carries McEnany’s press briefings in full, cut away from her.

“All right, we were not expecting that video,” Fox’s Harris Faulkner said as she appeared back on the screen. “Our management here at Fox News has decided we will pull away from that at this time.”

Faulkner brought on the Wall Street Journal’s editorial editor and a former DNC deputy press secretary to talk about the video quick.

“Some tough images there,” Faulkner continued. “A lot of things that we didn’t anticipate to be shown in terms of some wording on the screen, but certainly a collection of the conflict that is going on in some of the areas of America.”

“I think the clear message, you look at a lot of polling, people don’t favor looting,” James Freeman said. “They don’t favor rioting. This may sound funny to have to say this, but I don’t think you’re going T end up with a lot of sympathy for violent actions in the streets.”

After a minute of talking, Freeman was cut off to return to McEnany, who began taking questions from the press.

Nearing the 2 p.m. EDT mark, Fox again interjected during the briefing to let Faulkner speak again.

“So much important information coming out of the White House today, and I want to address the decision made by Fox News management a few minutes ago as we pulled away from the video that we were not told would air and how it would be edited with some things on screen that we might have wanted a heads up about,” Faulkner said. “That is part and full of what went on there, but I can’t go on without addressing that. We’re approaching the top of the hour, the White house press briefing is something that is important for us to carry for you, so a heads up a times with videos like that in the middle of the day are helpful.”

I have come to despise fox news, I'll never watch the 5 again. I do have it on for Tucker, Hannity and Ingrham and I sometimes listen to Fox business, during the day just to check where the stock market is and sometimes Lou Dobbs. Mostly my televisions are on OAN, that is when the tv is on and that is less and less.

I don't think we can blame FOX... that's an FCC rule, and they don't have the leeway a cable station might (if I understand the rules correctly). I understand how stupid it looks, given all the videos and pics spread all over the 'net with explicit language as a matter of course, but network teevee *does* still have rules about profanity, nudity, etc... with potential fines attached for violations.

FCC rules only apply to actual OTA broadcast signal, VHF/UHF.

Hmmm... see how much teevee I watch?! I thought FOX was channel... er? 29? on the OAT local stuff... Probably wrong... I doubt I've watched 4 hours total in the last year, except for pro rodeo and bull riding.

FOX does have OTA affiliates to which this would apply. CNN does not, most cable channels do not.

A short broadcast delay could have solved the problem.

That is a really good point.

The entire Talk Radio industry uses a seven second delay.

I don't see why broadcast television or cable television does not routinely use a delay. Especially with everything being digital now, it is not a difficult technical task at all.

Since I cut the cable I get Fox on YouTube at least part of a show, sometimes the same day sometimes not but I can not watch The Five ever because of Juan Williams.

I went to OAN when fox cut presser feed, did not
know how long they'd be off it, so stayed at OAN.

Poor Juanita. He's always the token carrying the water for the Ds. He knows it's a job and does it as well as he can. I wonder how much of the bs he has to spew he believes? Sometimes he sounds like he's convincing himself because his positions (D talking points) are so whacky they just don't make any sense. They do need him though to bounce off of after he emits his tripe.
