SIL was managing a dept store. She had just taken it over, staff was almost 100% Somali. Customers started complaining:They look at me and snicker in that strange language of theirs.

So she calls the staff in, says this is America, we speak English here, get with the program and is promptly fired for lacking sensitivity.

She goes to the Main Office and says: You folks really sure you want to do this?

They decided they didn't, gave her a store closer to home and smaller so easier to manage with same salary.
