Long time user of the brand. I've always thought Isabella Rosselini was good looking, and have seen her pics as she's matured. I still think she's nice looking and is a good choice for Lancome to be their "older face". She doesn't look "engineered" like so many older models do.

Her reappearance should help the brand out. Lancome does well with their cosmetics but they need to beef up their fragrance offerings. They just discontinued one the missus uses. It was popular but they killed it off for some reason.
With the US population getting older, they and all the other cosmetics companies need to stay relevant to their customer base as it ages.

I agree, their fragrance line has lagged in recent years. I still have a bottle of Magie Noir that I carefully baby. Their fragrance lines in Europe have always been much more extensive than here in the states. Which one did your wife use that they discontinued?

Yup, time and time again they do it. I hate that. Some of the loveliest fragrances gone. Chanel #22 (my favorite), Ondine, some of the real old-timey Avon perfumes my mother sold years ago, Millefleurs, I could go on and on. I think they got rid of Chanel #19, which was pretty too.

One of my long time favorites. It hasn't been discontinued, but you have to order it from their website. Haven't seen it in ages in any of the department stores.

I like #5, and #19 (it's lighter and sunnier), but my perfume love is #22. Sigh........
On the other hand, some of the newer scents are very nice too. I need the more flowery kind or my skin rebels.
You know what else I miss? Nina Ricci L'Air du Temps. Ooh, I think you can even buy it at CVS now. Maybe I should go get a bottle and pretend I'm happy.

Carnations! To my nose, it still smells the same as it did many years ago. Or at least the bottle I got maybe 10 years ago does. It's still available at Macy's and Dillards (down here, anyway).
Fragrance keeps a LOT longer than most people believe, IF it is stored properly: In the box, never displayed on a dressing tray and kept cool. Light and heat are destroyers. I have some that are very old and still in excellent condition.

That reminds me. In my old neighborhood they had a sort of *boutique* place that used to be a pharmacy. Pretty expensive stuff. They have a section for Crabtree & Evelyn that I used to buy their French milled carnation soap. Talk about bath heaven.

There was a small Crabtree & Evelyn shop in one of the malls years ago that I loved to stop in and just inhale deeply. Their soaps were so nice and I liked to keep them in my dresser drawers to make everything smell so nice.
Damn shame they're gone now.
It's sickening. I believe they made the Millefleurs perfume I used to buy too. Another one bites the dust. It's a shame.

Get thee to etsy and find your old school Crabtree and Evelyn soaps, bath lotions. I just topped off on some old Woods of Windsor items I used to love at Marshall Fields. Woodbury herbal soap! Anthropology peony hand cream in the tube by Lollia

You can recreate the costly concoctions with essential oils at home in many cases, research the ingredients lists

isabella is so beautiful. she does seem to be in her 60's and that is great! she is beautiful no matter what. the only thing i think would make her more beautiful is if she let her hair grow out a little bit. i have always preferred her look with a little bit more hair, but i completely understand why she would keep it short. it is much easier and faster to deal with when it is short. she is one of the few that can pull off the very short hair and still look gorgeous, but i like her with a little bit longer. that's just me.

I don't think I've ever used a Lancome product. Personally, I like after bath body sprays, and buy them from Avon. I don't wear makeup very often of any kind. Sensitive skin.

My sister wore a lot of those until she discovered the Sibley's Imported Perfume counter. They even have 4711, which we used to buy at the German Sausage Shop (obviously much more than sausage).

4711??? I used to rep cosmetics/ fragrances to the PXES many moons ago. Awesome fun, and I enjoyed the industry. Making women look and feel beautiful was fun; the never ending stream of dates was a hoot too. A straight guy in that industry is rare. I had a blast with the ladies!OMG !!! Talking about signature fragrances, a man should as well. Mine are M7 by Yves saint Laurent, heritage and habit Rouge from guerlain. M7 is no longer sold here, if you do find it it's 250 bucks for a 1.7 edt.
I repped the classics, guerlain, dior, Jean Patou etc. There is nothing better than a well dressed (or not) woman with a nice fragrance. Delicious, she let's the world know how "together" she is. Shalimar, poision, 1000; perfumes like that scream style and good taste! So does Blue jeans, that and Tabu are the best mass fragrances I've ever smelled.
My wife and I met in the px over an order of fragrances. She was wearing her signature fragrance Chanel #5. That stuff is catnip, ladies!

I'm extremely sensitive to scents, as in going to the hospital in an ambulance in anaphylaxis sensitive... that said I do love me some french milled soaps, so long as they do not contain lavender or citrus.

4711 is German, and it's kind of old-fashioned. They didn't make it in perfume, but the toilet water was nice and light. You have to be into it that day though. Poison is way too heavy for me, someone once bought me a bottle when I was in the hospital (subliminal message? LOL). You are so lucky you got that gig !!!
My sister liked Shalimar and Chantilly, but they were also too heavy for me. And Tigress. And Tabu. She had them all. But she discovered Ondine at Sibley's and guys would trail her around just for a sniff of it, it was really mesmerizing. I'm pretty sure it's not made anymore, or if it is I don't know where it's sold. I suppose I could look.
Two I hate -- Joy and Miss Dior. My mother and every old lady in Rochester used to bathe in Miss Dior. *gack*

I'm not allergic to the scents. It's where it touches my skin. They all cause a skin rash that feels like a deep sunburn. That's why I can only use Avon products. I'm the same way with makeup. I can only use Neutrogena, or else, my skin gets terribly irritated. Over the years, I spent a fortune trying to find products that I can use on my skin.
