TERRORISM Flydubai flight to Israel diverted to Saudi Arabia after emergency alert

Open Source Intel @Osint613
Some of the latest updates on the Flydubai plane attack:

• Flydubai flight FZ1073, a Boeing 737 MAX 8 traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv, was carrying 174 passengers, including 27 children.

• Israeli officials say the Omani co pilot stabbed the captain and attempted to take control of the aircraft and crash it, potentially a 9/11 style attack. His affiliation remains under investigation.

• During the incident, the aircraft plunged from roughly 33,000 feet to 17,000 feet in under 1 minute.

• The aircraft transmitted code 7700 for a general emergency and later 7500, the international code for unlawful interference or hijacking.

• The wounded captain managed to release the cockpit door, allowing passengers and crew to intervene. Israeli passengers and crew members entered the cockpit and subdued the co pilot.

• A doctor and nurse aboard the flight provided initial medical treatment to the wounded captain.

• Additional Flydubai pilots who were traveling aboard the aircraft took control and safely landed the plane in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

• The captain and co pilot were taken to a hospital in Saudi Arabia.

• Israeli fighter jets were scrambled while the incident was unfolding.

• Saudi and Israeli intelligence authorities are investigating.

• Saudi Arabia declined an Israeli request to send Israeli military aircraft to retrieve the passengers, Flydubai instead arranged another aircraft to bring them to Israel. The rescue flight has now landed safely at Ben Gurion Airport in Israel.

• No passenger required urgent medical treatment after disembarking at Ben Gurion Airport, including 2 passengers who were bleeding, according to Magen David Adom crews stationed beside the aircraft.

• Israeli authorities are expected to question passengers as part of the investigation into what happened aboard FZ1073.

One of the Israeli passengers who subdued the pilot-hijacker on board flydubai FZ 1073 told PM Netanyahu that the stabbed captain managed to open the cockpit door before collapsing. This enabled the passengers to enter and seize the attacker, as he was attempting to destroy the aircraft systems and crash the plane.

Most likely it will be considered a Hull Loss. The wings, wings internal structure, wings to fuselage connections, horizontal stab and engine mounts were probably stressed or bent beyond limits. Supposedly it exceeded MMO by 100 MPH when it dropped to 17,000 ft. They are lucky it didn't come completely apart.

PRAISE GOD!

Does anyone know (from the brief snippet) what SONG the Israeli passengers are singing and clapping to as they land? (only 4 seconds long so hard to tell)

These are secular Israelis, singing a popular Hebrew religious song upon landing back in Israel after the thwarted hijacking: "And God will bless me, and always love me/And things will always be good with me/And things will get better, and better...". They experienced a miracle.

Benjamin Netanyahu
@netanyahu

My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.

Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.

He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.

I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.

He is a true hero.

Wowwwwww

I saw the title and was fully prepared to make inappropriate goat comments.

The question now is...

The co-pilot axed the pilot to take control.

A dentist saved the pilot.

Passengers helped subdue the co-pilot..

Who landed the plane?
Reportedly, there was a second air crew riding in the back of the plane! What are the odds?

I read something a long time ago that stylistically you have a very good odds of another pilot on board.
Between Military, retired military, retired pilots, other pilots being ferried somewhere and last resort just an average person with a basic pilots license.

Thoughts by Google AI are in agreement that there is significant damage to the plane.

Yes, the aircraft is highly unlikely to be cleared for flight anytime soon, but not solely due to the aerodynamic stress of the descent itself.
Images and reports emerging from Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, reveal that Flydubai Flight FZ1073 suffered severe, visible structural damage to its vertical stabilizer (tail section) during the terrifying mid-air struggle. [1, 2]
While modern commercial airliners are engineered to withstand incredible G-forces and rapid altitude changes, the combination of physical sabotage and the extreme forces of the dive has grounded the aircraft. Here is why the plane is currently not flight-ready:

1. Significant Structural Tail Damage
Post-landing photographs and video footage show extensive structural damage to the vertical stabilizer, with parts of the rudder section reportedly missing. Aviation experts note that these signs of aerodynamic strain indicate the aircraft came dangerously close to mid-air disintegration during the sudden plunge. It will require massive structural repairs before it can ever be certified to fly again. [1, 2]

2. High G-Force and Aerodynamic Stress Inspections
Flight radar data indicates the Boeing 737 MAX 8 plummeted roughly 14,000 to 17,000 feet in under a minute. When a plane pulls out of a high-speed dive at near the speed of sound, it experiences intense structural loads (G-forces). Even if there were no visible damage, Boeing protocols require rigorous, invasive teardown inspections to check for: [1, 2, 3]
    • Wing and fuselage skin wrinkling
    • Primary structural deformation or warping
Hidden hairline fractures in the load-bearing frames

3. Crime Scene Status & Investigation Hold
Because the incident involved an attempted hijacking and cockpit stabbing, the aircraft itself is currently an active international crime scene. Security agencies from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Israel, and international aviation investigators must meticulously document the cockpit and flight data recorders before any mechanical work can begin. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Flydubai has already dispatched replacement aircraft to transport the stranded passengers out of Tabuk. The original airframe will remain grounded in Saudi Arabia indefinitely for both legal and structural reasons. [1, 2]
If you want to look closer at the event, I can provide more details on the current safety status of the passengers or how international investigators are handling the cockpit security breach.

Yes, it is very likely that this plane well exceeded its design limit loads. According to Flightradar24 data, it exceeded 600 knots (almost 700 mph) ground speed during the dive, which means it probably either reached or exceeded the speed of sound during that dive for at least a few seconds. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 is not designed for supersonic flight!

Boeing ought to be very interested in examining this particular plane after this incident. I don't expect it will fly in passenger service again soon, if ever again.

Odd that the NYT reports this as an altercation between the pilots. Don't want to say moslem terror attack? Why? Because it may cause people to think about Abdul al Sayed and wonder if he's a terrorist? Or wonder about Zoltar Mandami in NYC? Concerned that the sleep walking Americans just may wake up?
All part of the psyop run by the propagandist press.

The Boeing 737 MAX 8 is primarily made of aluminum alloys, which means that when an incident like this occurs most of the structure will yield (bend) before it breaks. The outcome here might have been different if the aircraft were a Boeing 787 or Airbus A350, which are made largely of composites. Composites tend to simply break without yielding. Either of those might have broken up in midair after a Mach 1 airspeed exceedance.

I'll bet those two "extra" pilots on board (flying dead-head--but thank GOD they were there!) were scared to death to take over those controls........not knowing what condition the jet was in......

Yeah, there was an "altercation between the pilots."

One wanted to crash the plane and kill everyone onboard; the other didn't.

The song with the words "God Always Loves Me" is "Tamid Ohvm Oti"
Ha'm, yisbarach, tamid ohev oti
V'tamid yihyeh li rak tov
(The Lord, blessed be He, always loves me, and it will always be only good for me)

Israel scrambled jets to respond while the hijacking was underway. It reminds me of 9/11 when the US scrambled jets and military pilots were faced with the horror of having to shoot down a commercial airliner. That would have been Israel's nightmare scenario--especially with the Oct. 7 anniversary approaching.

PBS had the Netanyahu interview with the passenger who was first into the cockpit after the pilot got the door unlocked. (see post # 48 above from X/twitter: View: https://x.com/ariel_oseran/status/2105336165020717190?s=46&t=m16-VV34lhzKPt6Q3uUxJg
; PBS had a translator). He put the hijacker/co-pilot into a headlock and pulled him away from the controls before he could damage them further (which he was attempting to do). He then handed him off to the other passengers/flight crew, and went to the controls and pulled the "stick" (I know that's the wrong term, sorry) back to pull the plane out of the dive it was in. He said he knew to do that from watching "Airplane Disasters" on TV!

Fox news Atlanta just covered the story--and no bull about an "altercation between pilots" like CNN and NYP!
