Flea taxi was one of THE voices of this genre. With Tired Old Man, "Scratchline" [Clark series], and JERRY D. YOUNG, I was educated in the perils of our modern world. Other icons and giants existed, and merit mention in some future "Prepper Hall of Fame".

However, almost all of these "planted seeds of fruits they would never harvest". How strange it seems that these prescient savants spent their lives warning others of perils they now observe, somewhat distantly, from Heaven's heights.

I stand in awe of Flea Taxi and his fellow-futurists. May they someday be publicly honored for lives of service through foresightful-fiction. Although a new generation of "warning voices" has arisen to address our 21st Century perils, "The Fiction Founders" shall always have a place of respect and "unpaid debt" in my heart.

Rest easy Flea Taxi--you and yours enlightened and instructed myriad future preppers who must now face the vices, betrayals, and perils about which you warned for so many years. God bless you all.

Wish someone knew what became of Scrachline. I miss that old storyteller. Hope he's either okay or in a place he aspired to be. If anyone knows for sure, and feels comfortable doing so, sing out. I'm sure there's lots of us who'd appreciate a little closure.

Not sure what Scrachline's status is but this is a link to one of his stories at the TB2K archive database.

I was in contact with him for a long time but a few years ago, he just dropped out of sight. His health was really bad and he was having trouble getting the care that he needed. He lives (hopefully still) in West Virginia. He would send me starts and pieces of his stories and then say, "here is the new draft, toss the old one" but I loved how he always wrote about Clark who was never the same Clark. lol!
Any email I send to his various accounts either comes back or no reply now.

kaijafon I'm sorry but we lost FleaTaxi a while back. He and his ability to weave a good yarn are missed but not forgotten.

OGM, somehow (maybe my post a while back) this morphed into a threadjacking conversation about Scrachline. Seems nobody's heard from him for 5 years or so, and.....

Ya know, somehow I really don't think either Fleataxi OR Scrach would mind the threadjack. They're probably up there swapping stories and watching us re-read theirs!
