According to U.S. Navy Officials; this Morning at roughly 3:40am a Vehicle attempting to enter Expeditionary Base Little Creek–Fort Story in Norfolk, Virginia ran the Front Gate causing Security Forces to place the Base on Lockdown and raise the Hydraulic-Access Barriers, which the Vehicle subsequently Collided with and caught Fire before Exploding.

The on Base Fire Service was Activated and the Fire was Extinguished, however the Driver was declared Dead at the Scene. The Incident is currently being Investigated by NCIS and other Federal Agencies.

Gate 8, if my guess is correct, leads onto the Fort Story portion of the JE base. The Navy has the 304 Psyop Company there, along with a whole bunch of unlabeled buildings. In contrast, Little Creek, which is (or was) where the SEALs train, has a lot more buildings labeled.

That said, I wouldn't discount the possibility that the driver was confused and possibly even intoxicated. There are a bunch of civilian roads out near Ft Story that lead to public beaches, and since this took place Saturday night, a drunk racing to the beach and taking a wrong turn is certainly plausible.

When a car hits that sort of barrier is a fire and explosion normal or was that car loaded for bear?

If it was an act of terrorism keep that kind of stupid coming. Run your car into a barrier and blow yourself up.

Little Creek is Seal Team 6 Command and Control….. I stand corrected, Seal team 2, 4, 8, 10 are stationed in Little Creek. Seal Team 6 is in Dam Neck, V.a
