I don’t know what is going on with the site, but periodically since Saturday, I have received error messages when trying to access it. It’s happened multiple times this evening. From what I’ve seen in our FB group, others are having the same issue. Anybody else?

Without knowing the message, I can’t help you.
Same for me yesterday. I've been super busy in real life so I'm not sure how consistent that it is. It doesn't happen on my iOS devices, only on my Windows so don't know if it is related to that or not ... or at least I haven't had it happen on iOS as of yet.
After the last couple of weeks with major services going wonky off and on, I just put it down to Data Center overload or something.

I had this happen for a few minutes earlier today(Same message as Loup). Then it suddenly disappeared. I can tell you more about it. The error appeared to be a problem with loading the article content. Because everything else was working. The reactions showed up at the bell on top. But if you tried to follow those reactions back to an article then you got the error. You could load member pages. I was doing it from the reaction links. And I was about to start a conversation with one of the mods when everything started working again. Every part of the forum that I checked seem to work except it was like all the article data was unavailable. No article headlines and no articles. Also on member pages the comments from other users did show up.
Things I never got to try:
1. actually send a private message.
2. Check to see if private mail messages stored were available.

I asked Grok straight out if it used TB2K as a data source. The answer was “absolutely yes.” Mind you, Grok had no idea as to my connection with the site, nor have I ever referenced it in questions.

Bots might have found us due to the number of links we post on a nearly daily basis here. They search who connects back to a popular article or topic then includes that in the info mining list. I don't suppose the why of it matters so much as it is happening. And once one data mining service has us, they all will eventually have us.
