Ya'll are welcome. I forgot to mention if you don't have a kindle, just download the free pc app and then you can start a collection of free kindle books. (Not all are free but search price low to high and you usually get some going at zero dollars)

It got a couple bad reviews for typos/spelling stuff, but its free so what the heck. Looks like a good story, and a trilogy at that!

The conversational punctuation is a real problem in some passages but if people can tolerate all the mistakes I make in the stories I post they should be able to get passed it for this one, especially since it is a complete and finished trilogy.

I guess I speak Alabama southron, and just filter out the mistakes and stick in something I understand. I liked the story. It has some silly, and the fellow seems to enjoy his drink a bit much, but also all the real get by in grubby times info he does stick in is good info from what I can tell.

The old crank tractors are pretty much a thing of the past. I do recal that there are some steam powered ones over to Guntersville though. Be handy to have one of them.

Fellow south of here towards Birmingham makes wood gas generators that run his trucks and such. Fellow not to far from hear bought his old truck. Starts it on Gas, then switches to the wood gas. Thing fills up the bed of the truck though.

Anyway for $0.00, and a fairly interesting story I felt it was worth sharing with ya'll.

Been thinking living on a lake with a row boat, or sail boat would open up a lot of possibilities for someone trying to get by in grubby times. Lake front land isn't cheap these days though. Floods are a PITA also.

I haven't gotten very far into it. Been way too busy. But since I didn't have to write it I'm not going to nitpick it to death. You're right ... for $0.00 the price can't be beat. But seriously, this is literally one of the reasons that I haven't had the nerve to try and put anything on kindle. I can edit and edit and edit and months later I am still picking screwy things out and correcting them. It's like trying to get rid of evil dust bunnies ... they multiply in the dark and try to drive you crazy.

It is different from your style kathy, but it is as good as a great many of the stories I read online. And while there are some handy happenings, the fellow isn't uber rich and just buys everything. His morals are a bit fast and loose in places, but I could see things going like the story goes for some folk.

Agree on dust bunnies. Makes you know how important a good proof reader and editor would be for publishing. Esp. mine. Yours, I never seem to notice anything wrong with them. Again I may fill in mistakes or overlook them. I do love your writing though.

Kathy, your stories are about the easiest ones for me to read and understand. You're way better than you think apparently.

I know how it goes. I didn't have the money to edit Surviving In America, and my reviews on the first edition (which carried over into the well edited second edition) paid for it. I learned a hard lesson. I bought and use great software (MS Office 2010 Professional) and edit as I go. You can end up with only light editing needed afterwards.
