But really REALLY glad it wasn't anything major!!

I know our county has had a few "oooopppsss" emergency alerts in the last year. All dealing with emergencies but not for the whole county, just for a select area. So somebody is still learning the system, me thinks.

That was an interesting thread of tweets you linked to. It appears others are just as paranoid over a NATO/Russian war as are TB2K people.

In particular I liked: "There will be no elections in the United States in 2024, "because there will be no America itself," said Vladimir Zhirinovsky. The LDPR leader urged Russians to buy rubles, "because soon there will be no one to exchange dollars and euros with."

Sadly, this guy could be right!

Might want to change the title... for now.

Things are tense enough as it is, no wonder it scared the shite out of you.
No, that's not it, I just HATE phones anyway!! I can't stand to hear them ring and for it to have that high pitched "scream" sends me up the wall!!!

I think it is PTSD from 40 years of being on call to deal with suicidal patients!!

Ah ok. We have silver alerts up here that relate to a missing elder type person. I was thinking it was the same and just using the "blue hair" as the slang.

Was there a beep, squeal, or some kind of audio with the alert? I only found there was an alert much later when I was checking for texts.

Alert system mistake warns Missouri residents Joker is on the loose

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is reassuring the public that Batman villain Joker is not on the loose after a staff member sent an emergency alert mobile devices.

Missouri residents received alerts from the highway patrol Tuesday warning citizens of “Gotham City” to be on the lookout for a purple and green 1978 Dodge 3700 GT with license plate number “UKIDME” — a description that matches the vehicle used by Jack Nicholson as the Joker in the 1989 film Batman.

The law enforcement agency explained in a Twitter post that the clown prince of crime is not on the loose in Missouri, which does not have a place called “Gotham City.”

“This was meant to be a test message, THERE WAS NO ALERT,” the highway patrol tweeted. The agency said the message was meant to be “a routine test of Missouri’s Blue Alert system.”

“The Patrol regularly tests the Blue Alert system to ensure it works properly when needed. During the test, an option was incorrectly selected, allowing the message to be disseminated to the public,” the agency said in a statement.
