Interesting! The only surprise to me is that the numbers against the Political Class in DC are not higher.

Interesting that so many answered in the negative, considering that we have a president that was elected with a majority of votes cast, not just the winner of a majority of electoral college votes, in contrast to many of our recent elections.

Not voting = consent.

I would not agree that not voting = consent. The candidates, whether Skull & Bones brothers Kerry & Bush or McCain & Obama were preselected by big lobby and corporate money, as well as support by CFR, etc. Others, such as Ron Paul were called "insurgent" candidacies and carefully omitted from press & other media coverage.

Not voting = disgust and despair about the elections, not consent. Other factors include the computerized no-paper-trail "counting" of the votes.

If Obama won half of the ~35% of folks who voted, that's not saying much, given the money that was spread around to get people to the polls.

Just pointing out that this thread is a year old. I bet the current numbers are not much different though. ;)
