I paid $5.80 a gallon for gas for our SUV yesterday.

DH filled up in town 2 days ago at $3.99. The rest of them were at $4.19. I checked that same station last night on gas buddy and it was still at $3.99. This morning it's $4.49!

Just got back from town. Gas is now $4.60 with diesel at $6.00.
Good thing I went to the UP last summer. Not going any place this year. Sticking around town working for a change, no camping.

Regular averages right at $4 per gallon and diesel at $5 per gallon here is SE Oklahoma.
A station that I stopped at in Antlers had a sign up that said buy two lays potato chips and get 50 cents off which was not viewable from the pumps, so missed this discount.

Gas dropped a nickel today. Now $4.59 a gallon.

I'm not worried about gas , I make adjustments people are spoiled .
Food is a hell of alot more costly.
I've got a composition notebook that I keep track of bills in and it goes back 6 years.
I'm not sure any of you understands what's happened since covid . Gas is the least of your problems if your living on a fixed income.

Food cost is a constant complaint from my wife. Every week. Never about the cost of gas.
Then again - maybe because I fill her tank!
Kidding aside - if the water situation in the southwest continues it is going to be much, much worse by winter.

Prices have been artificially controlled, or at least moderated a bit, by squandering our strategic oil reserves. At the current rate, some time in July, we should start to see a spike in US that will shut down 20% of our economy. Europe & Australia and California will feel this sooner.

Absolutely … electric .. DTE has raised prices dramatically and finds new ways to add fees to get more. Two big price increases in the last year. Food … prices up 4% and more in the last year. And noticeably less in the package, even though it says it’s the same amount. Health insurance … health insurance … the biggest for us … 21% on our medigap plan.
An extra $100 month just on that.
So we are easily pushing $200 + more monthly with everything accounted for. But gas is part of it and is somewhat responsible for grocery costs and many other increases.
Should be a Somali or Illegal. They know our system better than we do.

According to Gas Buddy, gas prices continue to go down:
Paid just under $4/gallon at one of the more expensive stations in the area. That's down from $4.15 last week. That's Tampa however. In rural N FL gas was still at $4.59. Tampa's gas is cheaper because we have a port right in the middle of downtown/channelside where the fuel tankers pick up their gas to haul all over the state.

Just paid a little less that $3.50/gallon in Tampa, FL. During the busy summer season when the price is usually up. Go figure.
