CHAT Effects of Iran war … how fast gas prices going up in your area

LYKURGOS

No Surrender, No Defeat!
We use exclusively Mobil 1 oil. My price on a barrel has remained pretty constant for 5 years. I doubled my oil purchase in early March, suspecting future increases. Two weeks late I received an email saying oil cost were going up 15% April first some Dexos additives were down to a 45 day US inventory level.
One week later I get an email of a fuel surcharge table showing what to expect depending on state average diesel prices.
Monday of this week I received another email adding an additional 20% price increase.
I have not had to increase the selling price of oil in 10 years I’ve always been able to absorb that minimal movement. Now it has to pass through. The next order I make if it’s my normal order will be at least $900 higher total cost for the same product
Things are going to take a bite out of everyone’s pocket book

Its ok. We are kinda sure if we keep oil turned off for maybe 8 weeks until a revolution happens and long term destroy gulf production that everything will be ok. Remember when everyone was thinking that because kharg island was topped off and that iran will have to shut down fields destroying net production in the future? None of the other gulf countries are getting oil out and are also facing shutting down production to prevent being in the same shape.

Another point--We are being sold that this is good for America, that the world will begin coming to us for oil. Ignoring the fact that will drive up prices here, oil companies have no interest in putting more production online--massive cost, risk vs. just maintaining current facilities at significant cost. They will lose money if they expand production.

California, 87 is $6.01, Diesel is $7.49 per AAA.

Only going to go higher. By summer, we will experience fuel shortages.
The Trump administration is releasing much of what is left of the SPR. That will most likely, run down by summer as well.

Thumb of michigan gas is 5.00 a gallon, saw one place selling diesel for 6.59 per gallon. Trump and company got punked by a bunch of goat humpers lol, the braintrust around him fumbled the ball horribly on this war. Bunch of dumbasses who apparently had no clue. Trumps only response is to bloviate online posting ridiculous empty threats. Our credibility is quickly disappearing and our real enemies are seeing our weaknesses

Drove northeastern PA to Daytona, FL. Prices were $4.29 at home, $3.85 in VA at our first fuel stop, $4.19 in my hometown, $3.89 at our fuel stop in SC, $3.89 at our fuel stop in GA and $4.29 in Daytona.

Of course I last checked yesterday as we drove into town. Prices likely changed overnight, your mileage may vary and professional driver, closed road, do not attempt at home.

He could end the war yesterday. The consequences are just now arriving and are going last much longer.

Anything he hopes to accomplish needs to happen in the next 6 months--or never

Perhaps the Iranian plan is just to outwait Trump and hope higher gasoline and diesel prices will cause a November election wipeout?

Here in Alberta - I filled the VW (diesel) this past Monday for $1.88 CAD per LITRE.

On Friday I fuel up the 7.3 diesel for $2.02 CAD per LITRE.

Up 7.5% in 4 business days.

The conversion of the $2.02 CDN/Litre to $/US Gallon is…..$5.63 USD per GALLON.

(From an Alberta perspective, we would pay $7.65 for One Gallon US diesel fuel if sold in US Gallons here in the soon to be new country of Alberta. October 19th, 2026 referendum will reveal to the world what will happen.)
