as I was reading the main Ebola thread a question just came to mind. We love cocoa powder and use a lot of it. I'm thinking the time to really lay in some stock might be now......but......can ebola survive in something like that? Elsewhere I read that 70% of the world's cocoa comes from Africa. So no question is a stupid question right? I'm just thinking about potential contamination of the cocoa powder.
I have been thinking the same thing. I have a little cocoa already... about 6 cans of it, but I think I will stock up more. For longer term storage I might use oxygen absorbers... maybe see if the store cans will hold up to the vacuum of a mylar bag & oxy absorber.
Also, much coffee comes from Africa. Storing green beans for future roasting is good.
I doubt the virus will survive processing, but I don't think it is wise to risk it. I won't be buying anything from know infected areas.
