I just wanted to share a tip for saving money on drying clothes. I placed an order for Woolzies dryer balls. They are natural, handmade of wool and pvc free. These are suppose to cut down on your drying time by 25% per load. That and you never have to buy fabric softener or dryer sheets again. They are good for 1000 loads. I also get 2 vials of essential oils with my particular order (one lavender & one lemon). They are really quite too, as I watched a short clip on them in the dryer.
Some people use tennis balls but those have chemicals and shouldn't be used in the dryer.
During the Spring Summer I like to use the clothesline every chance I get but I live in a rainy area of the U.S. so do a lot of drying indoors during the year.

I know they have something similar for your washer eliminating the need for laundry detergent. I'm really interested in those but wanted to know if anyone here has used them and if so how do you like them.

Raggedyman... They are called Woolzies. I bought them from here http://bit.ly/1Sb9uGu and you get 4 xl plus the 2 vials of essential oils. If you go to Amazon they are offering 6 xl but the essential oils you buy separate. I paid $23.99 :)

This isn't the brand I bought. I was excited when I got them, but boy are they loud in the dryer. I'm still undecided if these are for me or not.

I follow a guy on youtube who finds the best deals and introduces you to new ones...this is how I found them. He did a short clip of putting them into the dryer and letting it run. Couldn't hear anything.
At 25% electric savings every time I run a load might even make the nosiest ones worth it to me though Lol

When I get them I will come back here and give a personal review :D

Yes imaginative, you put drops of the oil on the dryer ball. They have many scents to choose from too.

Used the dryer balls for the first time last night. I did a heavier load with shorts, towels & jeans and cut the timing down by 25% of what I normally set it to dry. The clothes were dry but the jeans were still slightly damp around the waist and pockets so I added another 10 min and they were completely dry.
I did a another load of sheets and pillow cases and basketball shorts this morning and all came out dry at a 25% decrease of my regular drying time. The shorts are made of polyester and they did have static to them, so I had to rub a dryer sheet on them. The other items were fine.

As far as noise...it didn't bother me at all. I used all 4 at one time and it sounded like maybe a heavy pair of slippers were thrown into the dryer.

The scents...they sent me lavender and lemon essential oils. You are to put 2-3 drops on each ball. I used 2 on each and it was pretty strong on the clothes. I had to rewash my sons sports shorts. Should just use one drop maybe on each instead.
The issue I had though was that after the clothes are dry you put the scents on the dryer balls and use the air-fluff (non-heated) cycle for another 10 min. For me, when the clothes are done they are done and I don't want more steps to follow lol and if they are to cut your drying time by 25% then adding another 10min. after the clothes are already dry for the scents is defeating the purpose if cutting down on your drying/electric time is the reason for using them.
So the second load I didn't use the scents. The load was fine and I think I actually preferred it better.

So I do like them. :) I will do a few more loads to make sure, but I think I will be keeping them. Ill use the scents for other things and that will keep my drying time/electric cut. I wont have to buy fabric softener sheets anymore, but from the box I already have I can use if needed on more static prone clothes once they are out of the dryer.

I've used the dryer balls. I like them/ Only thing bad is they get in shirt sleeves during drying.

They are also easy to make yourself. Especially if you have access to raw wool. There are many instructions on line about making them, from felted balls, crocheted balls, and knitted balls. All work well.
