Dog wasn't injured, but it didn't feel good!

Our dogs won't touch any wire whether it is electrified or not. We can put a wire 12" above the ground and contain 2 otherwise very brave GSD's.

I once saw a neighbors dog get nailed by an electric fence. While running away he got entangled in another portion of the fence. he did not return home for two days.

Sittin' at a buddy's, in the front yard, his house is in the middle of his pasture, got 1 strand of electric fence around it to keep the cows out of the flowerbeds. Bump gate across the driveway. Fence wire goes down post on one side of the driveway, buried just enough to not get flexed when driving in or out, then back up the other side and continues on around yard. Old hound comes trotting up the driveway, not his dog (nor mine), pulls up to one of the posts and does what an old hound dog does. Knocked him for a loop. Dang dog sat there on his rump and barked at that post for two hours.
