Herbs DH has filled several larger pots for me to grow herbs.

However, I have no clue which ones to grow, I have several kinds of seeds. Suggestions would be helpful.

What do you use?! No sense in having pots of parsley or whatever if you never use it! I like rosemary, chives, basil and sage...

Sad to say nothing really, although I could dehydrate and vacuum seal if I got a wild hair to try something. I'm a plain cook, DH can't stand any spice, but I use Tony's and spike in my food. I ordered a big bag of dehydrated parsley to make my own onion soup mix for seasoning.

Sooo... plant something you *will* use! Salad greens grow well in pots. So do most peppers. Or say the heck with it and plant some flowers to lift your spirits! Calendula (pot marigolds) is dual purpose... they're pretty, easy to grow, and the flowers make grest healing soaks or salves.

North to the Future
My herb planting always starts with the refrain from Scarborough Fair: Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme. Then I add Basil, a lot of Dill, and Cilantro for the others, though it tastes like soap to me. Last year everything did so well that I want to expand it this year. I like having the large pots in which they grow because I can kind of chase the sun with them as the season ends and they days grow short and cool. ;)

I just wish I could find some winter hardy rosemary - hate having to replant it every year. Other than that, basil, thyme (which seems to survive our Colorado winters). Always do a variety of hot peppers too.

Need to get into the herb bed as soon as the weather straightens out a little more and dig out more oregano which went wild last year. Of course it didn't help that I was gone for 6 weeks during prime growing season in Colorado either.

Which reminds me, Summerthyme I'm going to mail you a presentation on which herbs are good for respiratory issues. Son got this from one of his classmates who's studying this.

Or, if others want, I can just post it on here if I can figure out how to do an attachment.
