I grew up, went to school and church and graduated from this area. Dolton is a prime example of what happens when GTR punks move into an area.

When I was growing up, that whole area was a very nice one. It truly was a good area to grow up in.

Now? I would not even drive through there. It truly does break my heart.

The city trusties issued a check for the town hall for just over $500,000. dollars and now found out the check was cashed at some check cashing operation in town and the trusties have no idea where the money was spent or if they pocketed some or all of the half a million dollars using fake contractors.

She knew this was coming down on her back when she visited Biden in the Whitehouse. If I was conspiratorial, I would suggest that she had advance notice of the FBI investigation, as well as what she would need to do to get out of it.

If she doesn't do what they want, she will just go away, and the problem will be solved.

I have tried to keep up with this and as of late she is being allowed to sit in on meetings and vote on her investigation, Yep you read right she is more or less being allowed to be judge and jury of her own trial as she votes to stop the meeting or something other each and every time. It's not supposed to work this way and when someone in government is being investigated they have no say in the matter, in fact they should not even be in the room when any of it is being discussed.

Sounds like my city. For well over a decade, the Mayor directed the City Council meetings, which was against the bylaws. "Someone" spoke up. He wasn't there for the next meeting, or any following ones. The Mayor shouldn't even be in the room, unless the Council requests a special session, when necessary. There wan't any corruption, it was just not going by the rules.

and, Urban renewal starts w/ Urban Blight so take heart 'private_mom'; one day in the next generation or so, your kids or grands might be able to take the town back.

Assuming of course there's anything left worth the effort.

After a tenure mired in controversy, former Dalton, Illinois, Mayor Tiffany Henyward lost her bid for re-election when she suffered a landslide loss in the Democratic primary.

Her opponent, Village Trustee Jason House, won almost 88% of the votes, while Henyard could barely manage 12%.

The Gateway Pundit has reported extensively on allegations and investigations into Henyard dubbed “the worst mayor in America.”

Although no longer in office, the chaos that circled around her tenure continues to swirl around her. Henyard has now been ordered to appear for a contempt hearing after failing to turn over public records from her time in office.

A Cook County judge previously held Henyard in contempt of court for failing to turn over records from her tenure as required by state transparency laws. Henyard reportedly told the judge Friday she was the “face” of the village but didn’t handle record-keeping.

The judge ordered Henyard to appear in person on Friday, June 6.

The Edgar County Watchdogs, Inc. sued the Village of Dolton for failing to produce credit card and other records after Henyard’s administration ignored Freedom of Information Act requests in January of 2024.

“The massive public exposure given to the Defendant that has brought Illinois corruption into the national public spotlight needs to be addressed immediately to save further harm to the state’s reputation,” read the Edgar County Watchdog’s complaint.
