Just a quick poll and thought: should I create a Recipe/Cooking subforum here in this SIG? I'm really not sure if it makes sense to do that, but I thought I'd ask...

I don't think you'd need to, at least not yet. There doesn't seem to be enough recipes to make it necessary to go to another spot. I like to be able to find things all in the same forum without having to click around. Cooking is part of Homesteading any way, but that's just my two cents.

For the most part, I agree with Dinghy. Altho it would be nice to keep the recipes posted in one spot.

There's probably alot more threads on cooking this time of year...harvest time. It will probably slow down in a month or so. So I would suggest you let it ride a while and see.

I like the idea of having the recipes/cooking forum separate. To me it seems it would be easier to get to the recipes. I have my own website http://kitchen.helterbrands.com/ that is in the construction stages of adding recipes. I just like the convenience of having the recipes in categories, easier to find without having to do a search.

That is great!! Anyone is welcome to add their recipes, the more the better. I'm trying to add a print ready script so they can be printed off.

I posted lots of recipes to the Cozy Kitchen, Cracker Barrel and one other forum I cannot remember the name of. Each time, the forum was removed, with all the good info posted on them being lost. 
If anyone questions the need for a food & recipe forum, take a look at The Corkboard. There are plenty of recipes posted, but good luck finding them. Few people used the proper [FOOD] thread title header tag, making a forum recipe search very difficult at best. We need a seperate place for recipes where you find specific recipes easily, as well as being able to surf through them to just see what looks good.

I think the idea would be a good one if it were oriented toward prep, disaster, or alternative methods of cooking reipes.

The room was "Kath's Cozy Kitchen". after Vipper left, she demanded that the room be removed. I complied with her wishes, but archived all the information therein, so it's not lost. If I can figure out a way to retrieve it without her blowing a gasket, I'll make the attempt.
