HEALTH CTC-AM: GOM-BP horror stories. It's not over, folks.

Coast to Coast AM tonight. One of the guests interviewed was a would-be Marine, due for boot camp last January. But time spent in the ocean, swimming in Corexit, has ruined his future career in the Marines, partially paralized him, induced epileptic seizures and other problems.

His entire family is also sick. Mom, Pop, brother, friends........all sick. And the usual story from the doctors: They can't figure it out. Yoiu're either crazy, or they're just dumfounded. Misdiagnosis seems to be a problem.

The main guest says it's like Gulf War Syndrom all over again. Troops coming back were just told they were having mental issues and should see a therapists and get on psychotropic drugs.

BP, the government, and the media have buried this thing. America has forgotten this tragedy. What a disgrace.

Find a way to listen to this people. Archives or whatever. People are sick. Rashes, internal bleeding, migraines to name just a few symptoms that were listed off.

Have a friend and her family down in gulf area now, will report later if they have anything come up or
saw anything odd.

Keep in mind.....

There are a whole lot of folks looking to "get paid" out of this deal --- like the supposed commercial fishermen who filed claims for compensation when their first EVER commercial fishing license was bought the day AFTER DWH blew up.

...We live 5 miles from Navarre Beach, 16 miles from Pensacola Beach and 2.5 miles from the sound. My wife works at a hospital ( IT ). Nothing unusual happening at the hospital. My in-laws fish in the Gulf every week. Nothing strange going on there. They eat what they catch. And you can bet your arse if we learn of anything we will report it because we care about us!

Freedom Isn't Free
My two daughters, their husbands and my grand kids have been swimming in the Gulf a number of times. They have not been sick. Today's online edition of the NW Florida Daily News has a slide show of great fishing off the Navarre Pier. No mention of sick or diseased fish.

Lots of guys that worked the BP oil spill had respiratory problems. I live near the Gulf Coast but I refuse to swim or eat the seafood from certain areas. I have no desire to be a statistic when the truth finally surfaces.

Are there any TB2Kers LIVING ON OR NEAR THE GULF COAST who have FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE concerning this?

No problems in our area of the Florida panhandle. However, I do not swim in the gulf anyhow and am allergic to seafood so I don't eat it. Nobody I know that eats seafood is having any problems.

If it's on coast to coast it's got to be real, right? They would never think of pimping up any of their programs to get more listeners would they? Not saying this is the case in this instance because I'm not down there but I've listened enough George and others in the past enough that the credibility meter is somewhat in overdrive at times.

DH begged me this morning to take our labs to the beach. After reading this thread I thought "Okay, you are being too pessimistic and you need to get past this" so off we went. This beach is less than 5 miles from my home. We went early and the lab puppies had a blast. I kept noticing a heavy greenish foam that I'd never remembered being there before. We finally wore them out and on our way OUT there was a sign that read, "Swimming not recommended as very high levels of bacteria have been detected in this area. I took a picture of the sign but I can't seem to get the pictures to download from my camera to my computer. As soon as I figure it out I will post it. I was rather pissed that this sign was not at the entrance instead of the exit. So much for optimism.

I trust shows like CTC, Rense and Jones about 18,243 times more than I do any of the run of the mill sources like CNN, Fox, TIME, or the local paper. So yeah, if it's on there, most likely there's something to it. It's pretty easy to tell when the story is intended to be bullsh*t, as the host will invoke the 'silly voice' throughout the program. George does it, Art did it....they all do it, when the show is intended to be just fun and games.

And just a gentle reminder for those of you who are always pointing at the money.... Don't forget about the BILLIONS OF DOLLARS that EACH of the heavyweight meida outlets, giant corporations, and government agencies are tapping into all the time when they are spewing THEIR CRAP.

Yeah, 'cause ya' know people like Rush Lintbag and Fox Spews would never lie, mislead or exaggerate anything when promoting the latest 'war for freedom', and other popular BS.

Wish I knew exactly where in the Gulf this family was swimming. Did they just happen to swim into a very heavy concentration of some chemical or what? As I posted, my family has been swimming in the Gulf around the Destin, FL area and they didn't get sick. The Air Force has a beach club for retired and active duty military and their families. Not a guarantee of course but I would think that if the waters were dangerous they would stop the Air Force from swimming there. I would imagine the the Pensacola Naval Air Station has something similar. I know the Eglin AFB beach club is busy as heck this time of year. Especially as hot as it's been.

I don't recall if the exact location was mentioned. I only heard parts of the show. I'm going to download it and listen to the whole thing and I'll post more details. Of course, if anyone else can do it sooner, feel free.

As for the military looking out for its' own.....I think after 3 bazillion horror stories over the years of them doing exactly the opposite, I wouldn't put much faith in the ethics of military brass. If enlisted folks started getting sick, they could easily blame it on something else.

And therein lies part of the problem. Once the public has accepted the 'fact' that the GOM/BP chemicals are not causing disease, then if they ever do cause disease, it will be a simple matter to blame it on whatever is politically expedient. That is why it is so critical to keep the 'door open', keep asking questions, and not take any absurd position that all is safe and well. We've 'played these games' before. Have we learned our lesson?
