This Just adds more nails to the coffin. The new 1099 that goes out in either 2022 or 2023, thanks to the last stimulus bill is what will really kill small online sellers. This just makes more difficulties.

I used to sell small bits on ebay here and there, just a few sales a month. I normally used that income to buy more stuff to sell. Truly a hobby.
That all stopped a couple of months ago when I received notice from ebay about them needing my banking info, drivers license info etc. etc. so they could sweep my payments received while they skimmed off of it. I had always used Paypal which they sold.
Nope. I simply stopped selling anything and what I have I will just use. The hobby and the hobby sales ended that day. They can kiss my behind before I give out my banking info willingly. My drivers license? What more do they need to have someone with my account info access to do identity theft. They have my address and phone number already.

If you sell books you'll do much better on Alibris or Biblio. I do.

This is going to keep the IP lawyers busy for a while. The IP police can much more easily track down IP violators. Good and bad in a way. But we really need to reform IP enforcement and related laws as the fair use aspect is really muddied with cosplay and fan created derivative works which actually keep existing IPs alive and well with what amounts to free marketing. The other aspect is that this will just get thumbed at overseas and more stuff will just move to china and elsewhere. Plus this is going to force even more stuff underground...
