8 recovered and 14 deceased. Total 22 that are completed one way or the other.
Death rate 14/22 = .6363 = 63.6%
I imagine this will go down as we get more cases tested and recovered.

Yowser. When you lay the numbers out that way, it is alarming. But yes, I am confident the numbers will go down. In fact, my personal expectations of the numbers seems to drop with every day. God willing, that perception will become fact on the ground!

That's alarming news, I'm sure. I know it's got to be around here, too, but still there is a wee bit o' comfort being able to look at the list and see we're not on any of them, yet.

Why? Increasing case numbers is only lowering CFR. Granted it is confirming CFR for already at-risk population sectors so I'm not minimizing it at all, but no one is dying only to rise as a zombie to make more.

fort belvoir,5 miles south of me..............

We went shopping last night at Giant Food store in Fredericksburg, VA
The girl who checked us out husband is military and stationed at Fort Belvoir.
She told us that they had one case at Fort Belvoir ..a marine.. recent transfer from..?
The military has isolated all who had contact with him...very rapidly..
She was thankful her husband had no contact with him.
She was confident they had it handled.

We went late about 8pm very few people in the store.
We did see one couple with a cart full of soup and nothing else.
The store was well stocked..they had had rubbing alcohol..91%....
The only thing wiped out was hand sanitizer and hand soap.
They were very low on bleach...but some too be had. Fredericksburg is 35/40 miles or so South of Fort Belvoir. Not sure exactly. Fort Belvoir is south of DC in liberal Fairfax Co.

Indianapolis metro area has another case. Like our first, this person was at the convention in Boston. They live in the county west of Indy/Marion County, so that map could be updated with another red county. The news report said the person has mild symptoms.

The chart may or may not be scary. Some remind us that charts such as those may show rises due to cases finally being picked up and tested. Others want us to remember that we know the disease/infection rate will be exponential, and though we'd prefer not to have any of it, the situation is anticipated, predictable, and most importantly, there are steps we can take to mitigate it... :: shrug ::

It's now Iowa's turn.

At 6:00 pm CDT, our gov'nor came on and announced that there were 3 positive cases in Johnson County, which is where University of Iowa is located. [The U is in Iowa City.] The 3 patients came from a cruise in Egypt on March 3.
No link (yet). This was a special news report on NBC.
