This story was posted by me about five years ago when I was a member here (different handle). I had stepped away for a time and during that time I reworked the story quite a bit so wanted to share it to get some feedback. Thank you.

I really enjoy reading the "honest" responses the various characters have dealing with the crisis. More paragraph breaks makes it easier on old eyes for sure. Maybe post a character list, citing names, ages, professions? Thank you for rejuvenating the story for us here.

Thanks! I like how your characters have failures along with way - not every shot is true, not everyone stays in control at all times, people die. Much more realistic than some stories I've read (and written!)

I'm back from my trip out west. I took a few days vacation to go and see my son who turned 18 last week so I got to be there for that. Thank you all for kind comments and the big amount of views, it makes the work very worthwhile knowing that it has an audience. Thank you

Wanted to say thank you for all the views on my story. I truly appreciate it. I just posted another chapter, have five more to post before I run out of chapters that are complete. Wanted to be sure and let the readers know that it isn't a finished work yet and will likely be some time before its all done. I do have the ending complete already so I know how it will end. I just posted the last chapter of what I have finished so far. I would like to say thank you to all those who have taken the time to read my story and to those that have commented. It is both gratifying and appreciated. I think its a good story that still needs some work but I have every intention of finishing it. The next four chapters are all underway and I know what the remainder of the storyline is going to be. I do have the ending already finished as well.
