Hey Doz, I use to live in Lauinburg. Don't hold that against me. When I saw your post on carolina bays, I went to the map app on my cell phone and you could actually see some on that map w/o lidar. When I saw this post yesterday, I went and checked again and sure enough you can see them w/o lidar in the Laurinburg area.
On a similar note, it must have been hell on earth on the east coast when it happened. I can't image what it would have been like. Is it assuming to much that the ice/fireballs hit all the way to the edge of the old coast line 40-60 miles further east? If you weren't crushed from the falling ice, you more than likely died from the fires or smoke. It is beyond imaging!!!

What I’ve read recently, thanks to the ice sheets melting in Greenland, that the comet most likely broke up hitting the east coast of the US, parts of Labrador and also Greenland. The damage was catastrophic.

I agree Doz. They are all oriented to the same location. I don't believe the wind made them. When you see the lidar radar, there are bays on top of bays. Probably no place to run if you were on the east coast. But overall, it was almost an extinction level event.
Depending on how much woo you believe, we could be close to another event or we could go 500 years and not see anything bad. There are too many unexplained things on this planet to think we are in control or can control our destiny.
