This really does hit some people harder than others, doesn't it? Wonder what underlying condition Chris Cuomo had. Assuming, of course, he's not lying, which isn't out of line for CNN correspondents.

CNN's Chris Cuomo says he endured a night of hell while battling coronavirus - shivering so hard he chipped a tooth and began hallucinating.

"This virus came at me. I’ve never seen anything like it," said the 49-year-old Cuomo - telling viewers he had a fever of 103 degrees "that wouldn't quit."

"It was like somebody was beating me like a piñata," he added. "And I was shivering so much … I chipped my tooth."

Cuomo said of the fever-induced hallucinations: "My dad was talking to me," referring to the former New York governor who died in 2015. "I was seeing people from college, people I haven’t seen in forever. It was freaky what I lived through last night, and it may happen again tonight."

Cuomo, broadcasting from his basement, has been providing CNN viewers with a firsthand account of his experience with coronavirus in an effort to illustrate how serious the disease is. Alas, with airports empty, Cuomo's message may not have reached many.

"Anybody who’s ever seen me spar will tell you my first round is never my best, and this has proven no different with coronavirus," Cuomo said. "I’ve never experienced any kind of fever like what I have going on all the time, and the body aches and the tremors and the concern about not being able to do anything about it. I totally get why so many are so scared all over this country."

That said, Cuomo reports that his wife and kids have tested negative for the disease, "and that is the best thing I ever could have heard."

Seems like Cuomo is fighting a real war in his basement - which is nothing new for CNN correspondents.

I can think of much worse people to hallucinate about. Mario was good people. Dad had a reasonably close relationship with him which started at Boys State when dad more or less ran the place for the NYS American Legion for a couple (or more) years.

I give up.

I agree. Even though he was a Dem, I liked him.

Dad was an R. And he backed Mario and told people about him at the drop of a hat.

And THEN dad got into politics in the Assessor's role...(For the Town [Marshal] not the Village [Waterville])

Yeah a guy that sick, yet has the energy to tell the world what he went through. When I was sick a month ago the last thing I wanted to do was report to the world.

Media whore comes to mind

The average fighting mans temperature of the 32nd Division in battle against the Japanese was 103. McCarthur told them they were not taking enough casualties and to fight harder without sending needed supplies. They did bayonet charges into Japanese machine gun nests.
Suck it up Cuomo. Others have had to.

Are you sure about that?
I am not specifically discounting his experience with fever, and I'm not disputing his tooth chipping at all. I've heard of that before. I would say though that people deal with fever differently. I've had 103 fevers many times as an adult, and didn't hallucinate. Then again, I remember having a fever hallucination as a child that woke me up out of a deep sleep, so I can understand.

I'm extremely un-fond of Fredo, but I have to say, for once, he might actually be telling some truth.

Yup...it appears that ol' Chris isn't so sick that he isn't relishing his latest "Look at Me " moment.

Just go to sleep and shut up, Chris.

My husband and my youngest daughter hallucinate if they take NyQuil, or other cough suppressants. My husband broke his collarbone years ago, the doctor prescribed Darvocet for the pain. His hallucinations were off the chart. He of course didn’t take anymore after the first dose and just had to deal with the pain.

Cuomo could have been self medicating.

Why do I get the *feeling* that he's setting things up so that down the line, he can write his memoir.

Ala Obunghole's book, "Dreams from My Father"?

Hmmm... V
