Its called Kuru, an extremely rare disease which virtually became extinct after extinguishing cannibalism in Papua New Guinea. Amazingly Kuru has now been found in 8 to 20 people, out of all places, in war-torn Syria, and the only way it could have come about, doctors confirmed, is through cannibalism and the consumption of human brain,
as first reported by Arabian news source Zaman al-Wasal and substantiated by Orient News Television.

Description: Australian scientist Michael Alpers dedicated over 50 years to researching Kuru, an obscure and incurable brain disease unique to the Fore people of New Guinea. Kuru was once thought to be a psychosomatic illness, an infection, a genetic disorder, even a sorcerer's curse, but Alpers' findings pointed to cannibalism as the culprit. Yet a recent discovery has proven to be even more disturbing: the malady is linked to mad cow disease and its human equivalent, variant CJD. With a decades-long incubation period, could a larger outbreak be on its way?

Two of the infected were sent from Syria to a hosptial in Ghazi Antab in Turkey for further examination to only be transferred to another hospital in Germany. One of the two already died, since Kuru is 100% fatal. Kuru is contagious and has symptoms of skin ulcers and worms, and according to a piece on the New York Times,

Kuru is a very rare disease. It is caused by an infectious protein (prion) found in contaminated human brain tissue.
Kuru is found among people from New Guinea who practiced a form of cannibalism in which they ate the brains of dead people as part of a funeral ritual.

One of the infected men in the German hospital was confirmed to have eaten human flesh, and he eventually died. When the Turkish hospital was asked on the details of the cannibalism case, they refrained from saying anything.
Moreover, the Free Syrian Army said they will be doing an investigation on the cannibalism case, and this sparks a hunch as to what their intentions are behind this.



Overall, there are 8 to 20 cases of Kuru in Syria; Kuru strictly is caused by cannibalism, and cannibalism was involved from the report on what took place in the German hospital.
In past studies, it was established that in the area of Fore in Paupa New Guinea, Kuru was transmitted due to “ritualistic mortuary cannibalism.”
It is quite possible that this is what commenced the infection, in that the jihadists began to eat the flesh of their enemies.

IIRC, the book titled Hot Zone, explained that the funerary practice of assigning various body parts of the deceased based upon strict rules according to kinship ranking (of females) revealed that the cannibal contagion wasn't confined to consumption of brain or CNS tissue but was caused by prions found throughout the body. ( In the case of Kuru, the men were largely exempt because the men raised pigs for dietary protein, whereas, women's protein deficient diets were augmented by this cannibalistic practice.)

Additionally they found that no conventional manner of sterilizing pure silver brain diodes used in diagnosing CJD victims would eliminate the prions on the probes, thus infecting any individuals in whom the same probes were subsequently used.

The CDC and WHO claim that no one in the USA has had this, but I know of several cases in the USA (Missouri was one cluster ) where autopsy results revealed brains with holes like Swiss cheese, which when added to a fulminating history of severe dementia and physical incapacity add up to some form of CJD in my book. IMHO, the idea that avoiding brains/CNS tissue avoids the risk of brain spongifying prion diseases amounts, at best, to whistling past the graveyard - or worse, among suppliers who have reason to suspect early infection, mass murder.

Nevermind the change in slaughter age for ruminant livestock which were at risk of the Mad Cow Variant from eating contaminated fodder which put the contaminated animals into the food supply just before Mad Cow symptoms would became apparent!
