800 vials going to Africa UN workers.
I have a suspicion that this vaccine will go into full production even before the human trials are complete as long as the UN workers in Africa appear to be protected.
The vaccine is also said to be effective even after someone has started having Ebola symptoms.

OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) — Canada will start shipping its experimental Ebola vaccine to the World Health Organization tomorrow.

The government says the Public Health Agency of Canada will send 800 vials of its experimental vaccine to the U.N. agency in Geneva in three separate shipments.

The WHO is the international coordinating body for battling the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

That's a very good thing for my Country to do. Now if they would just restrict entrance of foreign nationals from the affected nations, I would be satisfied with my government. Waiting, waiting...

Hey at least your borders aren't as open as the US.

That's true but the US/Canada one of the longest undefended borders in the world, I think. Anyhow, it's long and undefended and, as was mentioned on another thread there are many, many porous areas. This suggests to me that illegals flowing over the U.S. southern border could easily find their way north and seek out an undetected point of entry into Canada. Maybe I have too much imagination but I see all border issues in both our countries as threats to the overall security of North America. The Canadian government has been tightening up it's immigration policies and the issuance of visas - I would just like them to take that one step further on a temporary basis until we in North America are satisfied that we are not in the midst of a serious health crisis. Seems reasonable to me.

. . . vaccine is also said to be effective even after someone has started having Ebola symptoms.

That's quite an astounding claim to present at his early stage of development. Sounds more like PR hyperbole/magical thinking than anything approaching real science...
