Food Bob's Red mill Vege soup mix

last year I bought #10 cans of ABC soup mix. I decided to buy the individual ingredients and make up my own. The bag of yellow split peas came yesterday. I was looking at the bag and I remembered that some years back I bought Bob's Red Mill Vege Soup Mix. I was so excited because I really like what is in that mix. To my disappointment the peas would not soften, no matter how long I cooked them, I just don't like the crunch. So now I'm wondering if these will soften. Have I wasted my money buying these ingredients. The remainder of the ingredients are supposed to come today.

The vege soup mixes were replaced by Vitacost. I immediately vacuum sealed the ingredients in pint jars. I've never tried to cook them since that first bad experience.

My first thought today was to try cooking some of the yellow split peas, which I'm going to do and I'm also going to cook some of the stored vege soup mix.

I doubt DH would eat these soup mixes, but I would/will eat the heck out of them. Probably also be good to add a bit of shredded meat to the pot.

I also have a Power XL pressure cooker that I could use. I've had it for several years now and have never used it.

Wish me luck.
