Ben Carson may have suspended his GOP presidential campaign for President, but the retired neurosurgeon is not out of a job.

In his speech Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference — also known as CPAC — in which he announced the end of his campaign, Carson also announced his new job as national chairman of My Faith Votes.

My Faith Votes is a non-partisan group that focuses primarily on getting Christians to vote in elections. Its self-described objective is to “rise up as a relevant and non-partisan movement of the church in America that will motivate believers to act on their faith by casting an informed vote based on a biblical worldview.

“Christians in the U.S. can and should make their voice heard for the stability of our country and security of our freedoms, and those of our children and grandchildren … The best way to make a difference is to ensure we dramatically enhance voter participation amongst Christians,” because, “if we don’t speak up, we can’t expect to be heard.”

Carson issued a statement about his role with the organization.

“Nothing is more important to me than my personal faith, and it is my faith that motivated me to be involved in the political process to begin with,” Carson said. “I believe Christians in this country can easily determine the next president of the United States and all other national and local leaders, should they simply show up at the polls. When we do vote, We The People will once again solidify our commitment to the Judeo-Christian values upon which our nation was founded.”

The My Faith Votes website has been updated to include Carson’s new title as well as a video message from him imploring Christians to vote.

“What I love about My Faith Votes is it helped people to recognize that being a person of faith does not delete the responsibility to take part in the society in which you are living,” Carson said. “Someone’s faith is integrated into everything one does, so clearly it will have an impact on everything they do, including their voting. This moment in history is perhaps the most critical period in the history of the United States.
