Canning Beef Barley soup.

I made vegetable beef (Hamburger) barley soup last night and it was really good and and was going to freeze my leftovers
I was wondering if I can can them rather than freezing. I haven’t canned any soups if any kind yet and didn’t know if you cook it up first then can, or put raw ingredients in and just can them without cooking.

P.s. all the veggies came from my new little
garden ...Yahoo!!!

Canning soups with grains, rice and pasta in not recommended. They are for some reason considered thickening agents and there is concern on encapsulation of botulism spores vrs heat penetration. I have heard of some people doing it but it is up to you.
