5 horses butchered near Texas town since May - and police think someone’s eating them

At least five horses have been killed around Pearland, Texas since late May — but it’s the way they’re being killed and what’s being done to their carcasses that’s particularly disturbing to locals.

Pearland police made their first discovery June 10. Responding to an animal cruelty call along the 14000 block of Kirby Drive, they found a horse, dead and butchered.

Police told the property owner, Jason Bockel, that they had never seen anything like it, FOX 26 Houston reported.

His son Tyler was the first to see the dead horse. He went out that morning to feed the horses, Goldie and Sugar, and found them tied to a tree. The killer — or killers — picked Goldie and spared Sugar.

“I hit the ground immediately, she was butchered. She was murdered,” the son told FOX 26. “Nobody should ever have to go through that and see what I seen.”

It’s satanic cultists or...

Alien biopsies....”they practically own South America!”

This too shall pass.
Illegals sounds very likely. A lot of cultures don't have the stigma on eating horse meat that we do, and a lot of cultures also have no stigma whatsoever on stealing anything that isn't locked up like a bank vault. We've heard stories in the past about illegals driving up and stealing all the fruit off someone's yard trees; this is just one step beyond that. And domestic horses are usually not that hard to get a hold of, unlike range cattle or sheep.

This has been happening in the Miami-Dade area of Florida for a while. Lots of ag in between the Glades and the encroaching suburbs. Where there is ag, there are illegals. Just sayin'

It's not just non-Europeans either. If you can, go watch the "The Grand Tour" episode filmed in Nashville. One of the (UK-origin) hosts is ragging on pickup truck ownership, and comments on seeing someone's truck at an intersection with a lawn mower in the back, and mentions that you would never see anything left unsecured in the bed of a truck in the UK (if there were pickups in the UK) because just about anyone (the host includes himself) would see it, and say "I'll have that" and walk off with it. Proper respect for private property seems to be a nearly-unique characteristic of White Americans.

That's derogatory towards mules; they actually have some use. And I strongly doubt Pelosi's ability to actually function on the internet, much less be anywhere near as articulate as Dobbin.
While that is true. In some cases you had to hit the mule between the eyes with a 2 X 4 just to get it's attention. Before it would work( poor Nancy bet she keeps a headache). 'Course it could be in the gene's. Seeing Angels ever where they go. Ruth was an exception in more ways than one. Ruth was a male.

It should be noted that Indians (feather) saw horses as walking supper.

Calvary days they did too.

Last I read, it is legal to kill and eat a horse in most of the US, though it is illegal to sell horse meat in 21 states (and practically illegal everywhere, since the FDA won't give an inspection for it).

I just can't care too much, as long as there wasn't much waste and the animal died humanely.

I stumbled on a site by The Guardian the other day that was describing how those in the revolution would have to learn to eat horse and gave instructions on how to butcher and prepare. I didn't post the article out of respect for Dobbin but I have been keeping a close watch on our animals.

It's legal. But for the owners of those PETS, it was as traumatic as if Dennis had come home from work and found Hairy slaughtered and butchered on his living room floor. YOU DON'T KILL SOMEONE'S PET, no matter what.

(Not even getting into the grand theft part... horses are worth serious money these days)

I also agree about not killing people's pets.
Around here, more than a few feuds have started over such occurrences.

I was more just remarking as to the legality of eating horseflesh, snce it is so abhorrent to many.

I'd not heat horsemeat (cultural), or bear (stringy and greasy so I've read). Nor possum.

I don't like the meat of any omnivores or carnivores I've eaten.
I also don't care for reptiles or amphibians.

Fish, birds and prey mammals for me........if I have the choice.
The others are edible with enough prep and spices if you're hungry enough.

Horse makes a mighty fine meal. Better then rabbit.
many yrs ago I had a small farm in manitoba

one of the neighbours dropped by one day

and we discussed his PMU operation

(pregnant mares urine)

somehow the conversation got around to horsemeat

and he asked if I,d like a roast

i looked at the wife and she gave me the nod

few days later he dropped off a roast

it was truly delicious

a tad better than moose

but definately better than bear or beaver

i spent a winter in my youth

in a tiny cabin in northern ontario

all I had to eat was a big bag of potatoes and a few cans of veg

and all the rabbit i could snare

i cannot eat wild rabbit anymore

but farmed rabbit is delicious

same as duck

no wild duck for me

but farmed duck is yuuuum

Uh, question - which "revolution"? The one we had in 1776 or the one that is in progress?
