Unless you have your cell phone in your pocket and speak out loud.Truth is, the enemy only knows what we tell him.

I am doomed; you got me. I think you will be ready in 19 years instead of 20. YOUR going to make it!!!You misapplied “your”, up at the top, there.
I'd say you're on a good track . . . .I just turned 65. Realistically, there's not a lot I can do. I got out of debt, moved to a small town in the middle of the country, and I try to be a blessing to my neighbors, while living the best life that I can. The rest is up to God.
what are YOU DOing about it?
Several new back-to-the land communes and couples have asked about low-cost methods of drilling a well. Here, from the April Popular Mechanics, is about the lowest-cost solution to the problem that we know. It won’t work for everyone, but it might for you.
I'm happily living my life of mediocrity in suburbia.
I wish he had shown us all these camps. I had not heard about this.Listen to what his opinion is at 1:36 to 3:10 (I agree with what he thinks). Scary times ahead
yup, definitely depends upon geology in the given spot the well is attempted- the OP had a shallow water table, so hopefully her luck extends to include better soil.Real expensive to put a well in. When I first got my property I tried to drive a sand point. Got down to about 10 feet and that was it. Took a back hoe and tried to pound if further with the bucket and it was a no go. Come to find out it was all sandstone underneath me and needed to have a well drilled. Cost me about 3K for a hundred foot well with 6" casing and that was back in 2000. I can't image how expensive it is to drill a well today.
There are some things prepping wise you can't do for yourself and you have to pay for and that was one of them.
This couple is one that is actually out there walking the walk instead of endless chatting about it and have set up their own self reliant systems: they just put out video on testing the water from their self drilled shallow well with 3 different systems.I have looked for this "on your own". I used to just come here to argue a few yrs ago, but have since grown up a little. I am very interested in the well-digging. Can you help me? I have a very high water table in my area (semi-rural). I also have lots of farming and nearby truck traffic.
