…… Anyone?

I need to put kitchen cabinets along a 12 foot wall. Easy enough . . . except it must have the following - side by side refrigerator - double sink (dishwasher too) and a gas range. That IS tight and leaves little space for anything else. I've measured and checked templates, etc - yes, I will have to have an island as a work space. But this IS something I hope someone can give me some "professional" advice on. How close can the stove be to the sink or refrigerator? Can anyone give me some legitimate advice? Very appreciated.

When we did my kitchen - the sink can be right next to the stove. But they recommended distance between the stove and fridge. It's not just that the stove may cause the fridge to work harder. The fridge also puts off its own heat. So I'd say stove at one end, preferably the end not snugged up against another wall. Sink next to the stove. Then dishwasher. Then fridge. Actual preferred is for the fridge, stove, and sink to form a triangle of sorts.
Not a pro. Just passing on what we were told when we did it.

Put the fridge at one end and the stove at the other (yes, preferably open) end. Center the sink, more or less. You will hate the entire thing if you don't have two separate counter spaces between the three units. Dishwasher can go between the fridge and sink, where all three can be plumbed most easily. The top of it can be one of the countertops.

Don't put an electric outlet directly behind the sink where water can splash into it.

Kyrsyan, my husband insisted that the triangle was the way to go, he considered himself some sort of decorator because he was an upholsterer. So he had his way and it was awful moving stuff from the points of the triangle where things could drip or spill on the floor. When I designed my own kitchen, I put the stove and fridge at the ends and the sink in the middle and then spills and drips usually ended up on the counters or in the sink where they were faster and easier to clean up. (And didn't get stepped in when I was hurrying to get a meal put together.)

Ah. My kitchen is so small that there really isn't enough room to have the spills. I have about 14' but in an L shape. I ended up with the stove and sink on the shorter end of the L right next to one another. My only regret there is the little gap that lets food stuff from boiling pots drip down. And that there is only one burner with enough room for my canner. The fridge is on the very end of the long side of the L.
BTW, if the open end (for the stove) is near a doorway consider putting in a thin protective half wall on the door side. Most new stoves are insulated well enough that the sides don't get too hot but I'm the paranoid sort. New stoves become old stoves and life happens.

Thanks - I am pretty sure I have it worked out (?) and this information has been VERY helpful . . . I KNEW it would be too.

From personal experience, you will want the Fridge away from the stove by at least 36 inches. The stove will raise the temp of the fridge if the fridge is opened and it is too close. Other than that, go with what you want.
