GUNS/RLTD Anyone have a source for 12ga Buckshot?

I have exhausted my list of ammo websites looking for 00Buck. Everywhere I look seems to have a small list of #7 and #8 birdshot, maybe some minishells, but no Buck and no Slugs. I've looked at cheaperthandirt, ammo.com, ammunitiondepot, luckygunner, ammunitiontogo, and at least a couple of others.

Anyone know a place that still has 00?

Thanks. Only one seller with 2.75 shells, but there are several listings for slugs. It's something anyway.

What is this "enough" you speak of?

I'm hoping to add at least another 250rds, and 500 would be better.

If it isn't "in your own closet, basement, or gun cabinet" you were probably out of luck 2 months ago.

Put your name in at a couple of the big online places..if they will let you order on back-order....and be patient.

Just for grins, a couple of minutes ago, I checked Sportsman's Guide. (A good company and close to me). On the (few) item numbers for which they will still take orders, they are estimating ship dates the end of October.

Ammoseek seems pretty good I shoot a lot so buy a lot, I do not use my stored ammo.

I used to have 3 large ammo cans full from slugs to 2 boxes of blanks. Too bad they were lost in that boating accident. Also lost 3 good shotguns, warning don't try to clean guns in a boat. Barely made it to shore. That's why I'm called the water dog. Heh heh

I know how you feel. I lost a few ARs in a boating accident as well. Damn boats are dangerous.

Last resort ask around your circle of shooting buddies for a dozen or so.

But you really should be able to open your closet and go "Ah, that's where it is!", unless you lost your closet in a horrible kayaking accident.

In all honesty, the likelyhood you'll need more than 20 or so is pretty slim. Train with birdshot, save the 00 for hunting.

YMMV, of course.

Goooood luck!

Not your ideal solution, but you should be aware that common birdshot is devastating at close range. Secondly, as you've doubtlessly heard me state many times in the past, you should reload. Buckshot and slugs usually retail for over a Dollar-per-round. There's no more lead, plastic and metal in a buckshot round than there are in the cheapest birdshot, yet the buck retails for four or five times more than the birdshot.

If you reload, you can make your own buck and slug shells for no more than it costs to crank out birdshot rounds.

Should be about the right time.

Kittery Trading Post has slugs. Don't know close you are to them. As for buck check your local WM. I saw some a couple days ago at mine.

I think you have to hunt for it like Dennis did for a freezer - check every place you can, as often as you can and you just might get lucky, somebody will.

Not Buck, but they show 12 ga here, just high priced. No buck but they have goose rounds

One small shop in my AO had a selection of 12 ga slugs when I had to go to pick up something I had ordered. Picked up a a couple of boxes just because I'm paranoid, but the price was 2 1/2 times normal. He has a sign in his shop that he will pay good money for anyone willing to sell him #00 buck. He said he has tons of it on order with his distributors but they won't even give him a guess on delivery.

Right now you have to either hunt for stuff or be ready to pay asking price. Arfcom EE has tons of ammo in it but a ton of folks do not want to ship it and they are asking pretty high prices in my opinion.

If websites let you get email notice when things come in stock, do so. Be ready to buy regardless of price when you get email.

Target sports in california Gets lots of stuff in but sells fast. Arfcom watches their 5.56 and they may get a pallet or 3 in and sell the pallets of ammo out in an hour or three.

Lot of folks sometimes find the #4 buckshot and wind up buying it cause finding 00 or 000 is way harder right now.

The only place I've been able to find 12GA 00 buck available consistently is GunBroker. There's a decent selection there at the moment. There's Fiocchi 2 3/4" 00 buck, 250rds for $289, or about $1.15 a round. I purchased some for around $.70 a round a few months ago, and have put a few boxes through my KSG and Mossberg 500 with zero issues.

250rds for $289

Wow. I bought a couple of cases of that load to put back last year on a 'just because' basis, don't recall the exact price but it was cheap enough per case that I bought two instead of one. A case fits nicely in an MTM Ammo Crate.

Amazing ....

Yeah - the price has nearly doubled. When I bought mine back in April, I paid $340 for 500 of the same rounds. What prompted me to go searching for a bulk deal is that I had stopped by a couple LGS's, BiMart, Walmart, and only came away with about 70 rounds - I wiped the LGS's and Walmart out, and BiMart had no stock. BiMart told me they couldn't order any and didn't know when their stock was going to be replenished. I went straight home and made my order.
