OT/MISC Any Other Vapers?

I'm talking about e-cigarettes.:p

Here on TB2K we were some of the first to call ourselves preppers....

Well, instead of smoking e-cigs, we vape pv's (personal vaporizers).

Vaping e-juice gives me the satisfaction of nicotine and whatever flavor suits me at the moment.

It's been a year this past January I entered this weird world and I've learned a lot.

Just wondering if any other members vape?

shit Dennis, I'm smoking marshmallow right now!

I quit smoking waffles at work when a co-worker mentioned the bathroom smelled like pancake syrup, lmao!

I used to smoke 1 1/2 packs a day.
I didn't try to quit smoking "analogs", It Just Happened because I preferred the nicotine delivery via tasty flavoring vs nasty cigarettes.

DH smoked 2 packs/day, he now smokes 2-5/day.
He isn't trying to quit, he just kinda has preferring to vape as well.

I MAY smoke a cig twice a week.
I'll think I want one, light it, and immediately go "Eeeww" and put it out.

I've smoke some crazy flavors but generally enjoy ry4 variants...a light tobacco flavor with vanilla, caramel and sometimes nutty undertones.

Yup. A year and a half for me.

I tried gum, patches and pills. None worked. Then my orthopedic MD told me about the e-cigs. Knowing he would have to replace my knees in a couple years, he wanted me to stop smoking now. He said it would make the operation smoother and recovery would go much faster.

So after 35 years of smoking, I quit in a matter of weeks. I'm exercising, losing weight and my knees feel much better. I may never need the operation at all.

gag ? yeah, some of the flavors out there are nasty, but I found some good ones. Tried a real cig last summer after 9 months of quitting, talk about GAG!

Bottom line, they changed my life..............for the better.

I buy all of my supplies online, although we have a local supplier (a bit overpriced).

I use joyetech products mostly.....
I went from a 510 to an Ego (and Ego-C w/tank on occasion)

I use cartomizers w/a delrin drip tip.

All of the devices/supplies have been a trial and error thing but we've been happy with what we've been using for about a year so it definitely is working for us.

Hansa, an electric cigarette or "e-cig" for short.

A device that includes a battery, an atomizer and a cartridge.

The battery supplies the power to the atomizer that vaporizes the nicotine containing (or not) flavored fluid from the cartridge.....you inhale water vapor containing flavor/nicotine......

Uncle Screwtape....Yiiiipppeeee!

Nope-I'm a occasional cigar man.

Canniot stand the smell of cigs so your vape has to be 1000% improvement and congrats on stopping smoking.

Sat, I NEVER thought I'd be a non-smoker!

I don't even have a lighter in my purse!

I can take my smoke break in the bathroom!

I get my nicotine fix in a movie theatre!

I can have my cake and smoke it, too!

My clothes don't smell like smoke AND no sinus infections/bronchitis/respiratory infections.

$$$$$$ Saving a bunch!!!. $$$$$

I vape using the Ego as well. It's been quite a while now.... October 2010 since I had a cigarette. I do notice that I smell smoke on others now that I'd not noticed before.

This is soooo awesome!

Any recommendations on e-juice suppliers?
I've tried a lot, and a few I use on a regular basis, but I'm always in search for good e-juice!

DH's favorite, actually his one/only is Boba's Bounty from Alien Visions.
I like their gorilla juice and raf-a-licious (ry4 variant).

I've tried Ms T's Bakery, Backwoods Brew, Moondrop, Ikenvape, Want2Vape, FreedomSmokeUSA and Kick Bass Vapor.
So Far AVE, KBV and W2V are what I've been the most happy with.

For those who care I'm attaching an image comparison of different e-cig sizes/styles.
Then ya have the whole cartomizer vs atomizer thing!

(we're pretty happy with dual coil cartomizers from AVE...holds a lot of juice/lots a tasty vapor)

Thanks for the thread. Y'all (one of those Southern terms of endearment I picked up) have sold me on trying them out. I have smoked since boot camp C-Rat days and never quit. It is really time to quit after XX years :-). The little tobacco shop that just opened has a counter display of various bongs and e-cigs. What do you start with?

I tried a couple different brands but after a couple weeks they started tasting like an electrical fire and I found myself coughing more than I ever did on cigs...

I just started vaping a couple of months ago as I got a COPD diagnosis and needed to quit smoking analogs. So far I've used a 4044 Volt kit, both auto and manual as well as my personal favorite, the USB stick that stays connected to my laptop :D. I like e-juice in the bakery and fancy coffee varieties, Mrs. T's snickerdoodle is awesome....I don't know how she manages to get that *buttery* flavor! New Era has some pretty good flavors as does EC Blend.

I haven't completely quit yet, but I've cut down to the point where I only smoke analogs when my daughter is driving me nutz :D

Usually that kind of taste indicates that you have vaped the cartomizer dry and burned the element up. If you put more e-juice in the cart regularly when it starts losing the *good* flavor, it will keep the cart working much longer. Eventually any cart will have to be replaced, more often when you use the thick, dark colored juices like chocolate or coffee. Making sure that you never let fresh juice get into the battery will also prolong the battery life and keep it from getting burnt.

There are a bunch of really good videos on how to vape and maintenance of your equipment. Just search youtube for vape, ecig, ecig maintenance etc.

Ahhhh, Dennis they even burned those sweet savors in the Bible.. Ya know..."and he burned a sweet savor to the Lord"' and the old Indians smoked those ole peace pipes, :)

I personally think it is enriching to have something to look forward to. Kind of like a bowl of ice cream, but if weight is an object..can't do too much of that. Everyone needs summon ta look forward to. It is the pursuit of happiness. :)

I highly suggest starting with a 510 or ego.
If ya can spare $60 or so, just get an ego and be done with it, cause you'll eventually go there anyway, lol! Then again since you can walk in, go talk to them at the tobacco shop.....get some hands on....many times they will walk you thru your options. They even have cool e-pipes!

as mentioned, cartridge (carts) to dry. Outta try maybe a cartomizer.
Or just DRIP!

Ms t's snickerdoodle is some potent stuff!
Too much forme actually, I think the cinnamon was the culprit!
Her juices tend to be a little too thick, but I used too use her A LOT!
She certainly has a big menu!

Check out this source... Madvapes.com

Will do! Always looking for a new vendor!
Searching for my nirvana!
DH found it with Bobas, I'm still looking! ;)

My favorite juice supplier is BlueMistVaping. I really like the CaramelTobacco. Buy in bulk , 180ml for $30, best deal out there for quality juice!

Equipment I get from MadVapes or LibertyFlights.

http://www.buysnus.com/ . I prefer the Granit brand, original portion; no weird flavors (whatever you do don't buy the American brands, they taste awful). One packet lasts about an hour, about half the price of cigs even with all the taxes. The tobaccophobes will do their best to ban e-cigs in public because, because... tobacco is evil! We can't have anyone subjected to breathing the odor of that noxious weed! But nobody knows you've got a packet of snus under your lip.

Just quit all together! :) I went into the hospital 4 years ago with emphysema, I was on oxygen. They started me on Chantix. Since I was on oxygen and couldnt smoke, they put a nicotine patch on. I haven't smoked for 4 years this month. I miss it at times but having money and can breathe is better. I was smoking between 2-3 packs a day. I started smoking at 8 years old. Smoked for 45 years.

Well, snus is an option, thanks for providing the info!
I used to buy something called ariva (?I think)...it was a nicotine losenge for those times you couldn't smoke but wanted to.
I also have little small packets containing nicotine gel...never tried them but had a few "just in case".
Options = good!

Thanks, Scott. I went to the website and found all types of flavors available, too. I searched on yahoo for e-cig flavors, and it seems that there are actually some nice folks out there using the e-cigs for mmmm..."medicinal" herbs.

The end times are here.
I think that a Joye 510, or any of the skinny, low mah battery ecigs, aren't good starter ecigs. The battery life is quite limited. There's not enough power in a 510 to make warm vapor. I never use a 510 anymore, even though I've got two of them. At a bare minimum, start with an eGo, which gives about 2 times the battery life. I started with a 510. At the time it was ok, but times have changed... a LOT.

I use a 1800 mah (milliamp hour) 3.7v mod (about 3 times the current an eGo puts out), a 5 volt mod and a variable voltage mod. All use the same 14500 lithium polymer batteries. The parts came from madvapes. I built them myself. I use the eGo once in a while as a backup.

If I had to use only one of them, it would be the 3.7v mod that I designed and built. Reason? Because of the battery life, about 2 days on a set of batteries. All my mods make a lot of warm vapor.

madvapes sells the mods already built, if you don't have the building and soldering skills. They are inexpensive and lots better than low powered ecigs.

Today I tried my first e-cig -- a Number7 -- and a blu. I decided to buy the starter kit for the blu's
and sheeezam! the Java Burst is so fine of a taste combined with a bit of nicotine..:D

Now I'm not sure how well the switch from the glue-laden cigs to a battery gizmo is going to go.
I've got 10 paks of cigarettes left.

How do you do it?

Any suggestions? I'd appreciate hearing how you all went about the conversion, and how the first week or two went.

The missus and I both vape. Wife has gone for 9 or 10 months now without a cigarette, I fell off the bandwagon for a bit, but am back to vaping. I have an allergy to the PG I think, but a co-worker makes his own juice and he mixed me up an almost pure VG mix.
