So I ended up buying a 2015 Jeep Compass Latitude. My daughter has one loves it. Got a great deal. Went to a small dealership in town because the larger ones were just messing with me and I was exhausted. I've always been leery of the smaller lots but this one had great reviews so I thought what the heck? He let one of his guys go with me to my mechanic and had them check it out. Has new tires but needed brakes so he paid to have them put in. they really took care of me. Detailed and a full tank of gas to boot.

So here's the problemo- I am learning all these fancy things it comes with. I am supposed to have uconnect so I can talk on the phone while driving and also supposed to be able to transfer my music from my phone the "hard drive" on this set up. It's not working. I've tried everything. Watched You Tube, read manuals, nothing. I get the "uconnect phone not available" message. Here's a picture. Any ideas? I thought for a minute maybe mine doesn't come with it but I researched the VIN and it is part of the package.

Sorry, have a 2005 Jeep Liberty that we love and now has nearly 200K miles on it and still going strong. My first Jeep was a '78 CJ5 and it didn't have any of the fancy electronics of vehicles today.

Yes I did find a user manual that said if that message came up then it is not equipped. The strange this is the dealer website said under equipment detail: Radio: Uconnect 130 AM/FM/CD/MP3. Doing my due diligence before I purchased the car I looked up the VIN and it said: "Included features" Uconnect System.

Of course it's the one thing I forgot to check during the test drive and inspection. And I checked everything! So happy with my purchase otherwise. I wonder if this is something I can install? I'll check out the Jeep forums! Thanks!

Sorry, wish I could help. I drive a 2008 and my hubs has a 2006 Jeep Commander. I dread the day I ever have to drive a newer car with all those bells and whistles. All I have is a radio, a CD player, and a clock. Good luck! And congrats on the new vehicle.

Sounds to me like that dealer owes you that system installed....no charge to you and a free loner car if needed. You bought it with that system....now they need to provide it.

Not familiar with the jeep system, but i work for a german car company. Our radio and media ststens are the lesst user friendly junk you can imagine. For our stuff phone not available means that the bluetooth is off or phone is not paired.

We're also a jeep family. Us and kids: 2 jeep wrangler four doors, and a jeep Cherokee sport. DS sold his jeep commander though.
Annie, check and see if you have the memory card or chip in it. I'm sorry I don't know the technical name but in my Lincoln it's underneath the center armrest. Lift it up and there's a slot to slide it into. You can buy it at a jeep dealership.

Some phones won't connect via bluetooth. Had that issue with the blackberry.

I was under the impression that Uconnect was a subscription service. I have it in my Ram 1500 but each time I've tried to use it I'm prompted to contact the company to subscribe. However, Bluetooth works just fine and my phone pairs automatically. I use that feature to stream Spotify, often at very high volume, through the stereo. Sounds NOICE!

2001 Jeep Liberty in Patriot Blue. Love it, it's been in some awful places with 2 wheel drive. Drove it off the lot new. It has 138,000 miles on it.

So it doesn't have all the gizmo's but our 2010 Maxima does, but our phones won't work with the bluetooth phone service, because the phones aren't blue tooth enabled. Most flip phones aren't. Even those that are, they must be paired, or have the vehicle do a search for one, with the phone on.

That probably didn't help much. Me and the dog have taken over the Jeep, and in most cases you can't call out anyway, when you're down in the bottom, looking for mud holes, and down trees to cut for fire wood.

To pair your phone ... it’s via using “blue tooth“ setting in your car. Search for phone pairing thru the menu. You need to activate the pairing in your car, and on your phone the same time ... it must be searching for each other ... it will ask for you to confirm ... confirm. They should then be paired.

downloading the other stuff ... is there a media connection point? Plug your phone into it. You should be able to play your stuff.

Also after you connect via blue tooth ... your media should play if you press the media button. You can also stream from it using your phone.

Well, I just made an appointment at the Jeep dealer. You know, I checked everything, had my mechanic take a look, the radio worked, backup camera works, but the touch button screen is messed up. I think this is a separate problem than the uconnect. When I touch a button the one above it moves. So if I need to hit save, which is at the bottom of the screen, it doesn't work :/

Mine is a '18 Renegade. Did you pair it to your phone? That is all I did. I have an Iphone. I can't do messaging with it, just Bluetooth and calls. I don't have navigation on my car. I use mapquest on my phone and it plays through the car speakers.

I don't have a jeep, but in my Chevy, I find it simplest and the easiest to upgrade (add music) to just keep a loaded thumbdrive plugged into the stereo system via a USB port. There's a port inside the glovebox that works perfect.

Then no messing with phone loaded music and Bluetooth every time I get in the truck.

After a quick Google search, it looks to me like that UConnect is a subscription service. Free the first year of new ownership, then pay 15-20 bucks/month after. No real need if you do the above thumbdrive thing, or you still should be able to connect via Bluetooth with no subscription.
