Food Anchor Hocking canning lids.

I was given a bunch of Anchor Hocking canning lids. My friend uses the jars, but said she has trouble getting them to seal. Does anyone here have any experience with these lids? I don't want to waste my time and produce if they are not reliable. Thanks in advance

I've used them because they came on jars I bought from Wal-Mart. I had zero trouble with them sealing... I do, however, still follow the older method of bringing the lids to a simmer and then leaving them in the hot water (sitting on the table... not simmering on the heat) until I put them on the jars.

Apparently, this isn't necessary with the newer lids, but 45 years of habit dies hard...

I was thinking of simmering them too. I used 3 last night. Simmered then moved the pan off the stove and used them out of the warm water. All three sealed. I still have 81 more in the bag my friend gave me.

I need to do this with the lids I've had stored for 12+ years. Although I'm only vacuum sealing not wet canning.

Thank you for the reply ST on these lids and jars. I have seen them in Walmart but never used them. At least I know now

I bought two cases of anchor hocking jars a couple of months ago and had not problem with them. Although I had never seen them there before.

God is good, all the time.
