Let the one without a sword sell his cloak and buy one. -Jesus

Modern "Swords" just have better range......as in, "I want to stab that guy waaaay over there." Hence guns.

Yes. Nicely put.

I respect those who choose to worship the Lord on a totally non-violent path (Amish, and others). I see it as a valid expression of faith.

I also believe there are those of us who worship the Lord by using force when necessary (me, you, and others).

Perhaps both groups can be found in Revelation 13:10:

10 “If anyone is to go into captivity,
into captivity they will go.

If anyone is to be killed with the sword,
with the sword they will be killed.

This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people."

Or in other words, the Lord has made some of us Golden Retrievers while He has made others sheepdogs.

Lucky me. Went to help setup an estate sale. Helpers don't really get to buy anything before the sale is open to the public, but you do get to see it early. And if you have a specialty, you get to help with realistic pricing.
But, most estate handlers don't want to deal with cars, boats or guns at a sale open to the public, so those get sold off privately to known buyers during the prep.

The family kept all the guns from this estate, but they didn't take the ammo. So I got to take home a huge haul of 38 Special, 9mm in a few different varieties, a shoe box full of vintage 22LR, eight boxes of various 12ga hunting loads and a couple boxes of 20ga.

I helped a widow clean house. she wanted to get rid of stuff, I helped her set up a garage sale.. sale. might not be the right word, because she knew almost everyone who came, and gave away 75% of the stuff, after we were done, she had a box she couldnt move, it was loaded with all kinds of ammo, her kids had taken the guns, must not have thought about the ammo, so i got that free

Sorry, the days of the complete AR 15 for under $400 are over for now. Thou should'st have stock'd up while the stocking was good, for verily, I hath told ya so.

And the ammo is running 75-80 c a round for FMJ. Got to steal your buddies Xbox to cover some ammo.

the day of the $300 you mean, I bought 5 Ar pistol kits from PSA at $249 each, then got 5 lowers at $39 ea, those days are over for awhile. same with primers, and powder, I can still get some powder, but primers are out everywhere, as far as bullets, I bought a good supply, But I also have at least 1 bullet mold in every pistol or rifle cal made, and have a lot of lead, so worst is I gotta shoot lead bullets

in a bolt gun, I use gas checks on lead bullets, ( I can also make those) you can safely and very accurately fire lead bullets up to around 2,000 fps. some rifles a little slower , and some slightly faster, but they are very accurate atthe right vellocity

I've had an order of 350 rounds of 9mm hollow points out for 3 months, now. Got an e-mail from the company that the back order has been extended until the end of Oct.

I'm reading about some people storing huge amounts of ammo in their homes.

At some point the insurance companies and fire departments will take notice.

Insurance companies will require a special form for large amounts of ammo.
they will require an in home inspection to verify the ammo amounts.

Fire departments will need to who is storing large amounts of ammo, for their own safety.

Just a thought..........but I suspect something will result from all the ammo sales.......

What's a "large amount"?

Bulk powder has storage requirements (federal).

Loaded ammo, not so much. In my distant past as volunteer fireman we had a hardware store fire that left us working ankle deep in loaded ammo, including shotgun shells. No problems.

Politics is the issue with ammo, not fire. And if it comes to it, any cool dry secure place will do for ammo storage.

It has been proven again and again the ammunition is no serious threat to firefighters.

Sorry for the thread drift, but...

Dennis, I grin every time I see your avatar and you're online. It looks like the GSD has a pacifier in its mouth. :)

Hope I’m not repeating anything already said here or on other threads..

The current reality for the foreseeable future is 60 to 80 cents for 115gr FMJ, if your lucky including shipping and tax. In the event some of you have been caught short or your one of the 5 million new gun owners looking to to source some ammo, this is as good as it gets. Between Ranges & Trainers trying to stay stocked for their livelihood, preppers supplementing and new shooters trying to procure what ever they can. It’s not getting any better, anytime soon especially until after the election and maybe worse then. Not to scare anyone but I think this will be like Clorox Wipes, not available anywhere eventually.

I did an inventory knowing I’m well prepped on 9mm but predominately the kind of ammo I don’t want to expend at the range. I have had more than one person wanting to go to the range lately and noticed more than usual how fast (range ammo) can be burned through.

Yea I know all about training with what you carry but most of what I have on hand is currently going for well beyond 1.70 per round on avg.. That being said; I am somewhat short on 115/120 gr FMJ and decided to order some more at these ridicules prices to supplement what I have been picking up locally with a 1-2 box limit at a time.

Ammunition Depot out of FL. from time to time pops up with some 124 gr FMJ/TMJ reloads for around 54 cents per round. I guess that’s the new reality for reloads like those normally sold by places like LAX.
