Details:

A farmer's fascinating account of how agribusiness is disrupting the balance of nature and causing havoc in the food chain. He explains how anyone can beat cancer without expensive drugs, hospitalization and doctors, just as he did.

Here's a book you won't want to put down. The story is charged with human interest and drama from beginning to end, as keen eyed farmer Percy Weston recounts his experiences and observations over a lifetime of struggle on the land and draws the reader into an intriguing detective story that spans the years of transition from traditional methods of farming to modern ones.

Informed by an expert knowledge of chemistry, he believes there is a causative factor for cancer via the food chain which science has totally overlooked. He proved it first in animals in the 1940's and then in humans by curing medically diagnosed cases of cancer and arthritis which he realized had the same origin.
These were miracle cures as far as doctors were concerned.

Here is the enthrailing story of one man's unique journey of discovery. A book definitely worth buying !

Some pet owners prefer something that's not alternative for their pet - wanting something 'studied' and 'tested'.

I came across this today.

Cancers are so common in dogs any more - it's just heart breaking. I read that once a dog hits 10 years old, the chances of presenting with a cancer is 50%. Wow! Something is definitely wrong. Their immune systems are being dinged by something, it seems.

That's why I really like the tree mushrooms - Turkey Tail is one of the most researched mushrooms in the world - it increases T cell production and works synergestically with other tree mushrooms - I believe the results have been suppressed about this mushroom - because they've done so much research on so many cancers...and then very little gets out to the public. I don't think they'd put all that money into these studies..... Big Pharma controls the medical journals for writing up results on new research. Something doesn't add up.)

A few years ago I spoke with a vet who worked at the Flint Animal Cancer Center - I asked him how the research was going. He said - Not good. They are finding worse and worse cancers in younger and younger dogs. He said, "We are doing something wrong." Many have speculated - kibble, the common vaccines, chemicals in the water....

We'll see how this trial turns out with this Calviri's vaccine - they've completed three of the five years - so nothing from the trial for a couple of years or more. And there may be others researching a different vaccine in the U.S. or in another country.

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Phoenix, Arizona, healthcare company Calviri, Inc., has completed full enrollment in the Vaccine Against Canine Cancer Study (VACCS), with 800 dogs, making it the largest interventional canine clinical trial in the history of veterinary medicine.

“The data we are collecting on these dogs is turning out to be a treasure trove”
Tweet this
The double-blinded trial is testing Calviri’s vaccine aimed at broadly preventing cancers in dogs. The VACCS just completed year three of the planned five year trial. It is being conducted at three leading canine oncology centers – the Flint Animal Cancer Center at Colorado State University, the School of Veterinary Medicine at University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of California-Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.

At the completion of year two, the safety of the vaccine was assessed by an independent Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB), chaired by Dr. Rod Page at Colorado State University. The DSMB did not identify any vaccine associated serious adverse events. The safety will be monitored yearly, and at the end of years three, four and five, efficacy will be evaluated. The primary endpoint is the reduction in total number of any type of malignant tumors in the vaccinees versus the mock vaccinated control group.

“Enrolling and testing this number of dogs has been a real challenge. Not only were there technical issues, but Covid delays and even forest fires hampered progress,” says Dr. Doug Thamm, primary investigator (PI) of the trial. “But we have learned a lot about how to conduct future, large cancer trials that we hope we and others will put to good use.”

“The data we are collecting on these dogs is turning out to be a treasure trove,” said Dr. David Vail, PI of the Wisconsin trial site. “We are already gaining important insights as to how frequently to screen for cancer, the value of routine imaging, and other diagnostic tests in an aging population. This data will be made available to other researchers who may find it useful for their cancer research as well as other applications.”

Dr. Jennifer Willcox, PI of the UC Davis VACCS trial site noticed how many owners had interest in the potential human implications for the trial.

“One remarkable experience for me was how many of the owners were participating because of their hope that this trial could lead to a human vaccine to prevent cancer,” said Dr. Wilcox,

The vaccine inventions that were the basis for the VACCS trial were developed by Stephen Albert Johnston and associates while at the Biodesign Institute at the Arizona State University (ASU). Johnston spun out Calviri from ASU and is the founding CEO of the company.

“This trial has been a great learning experience for developing the improved preventative vaccine that we are currently producing, as well as new therapeutic vaccines we plan. Since we started the VACCS trial, we have been encouraged to see more interest in off-the-shelf vaccines like the one we are using in this trial,” said Johnston

The VACCS trial was largely funded by a grant from Open Philanthropy with additional funding from Calviri, Inc.

“We are so grateful that Open Philanthropy decided to fund this trial,” said Marc Wolff, CEO of Calviri. “With their support we were able to start this trial years before we would have otherwise. We intend to have this make a big difference in eventually ending cancer.”

Yunnan Baiyao Capsules

I just had an interesting conversation with my vet.

My vet prescribed Yunnan Baiyao for a dog with hemangiosacrcoma (my vet was told to give this by an animal cardiologist) - the dog is cured now! A follow up CT scan was done by the cardiologist and there are NO SIGNS of the tumor. They told the lady to stop the mushroom treatment (this mushroom stops bleeding from tumors and can cause strokes - that's why they said to get off of it.)

Wow! This is amazing!
We gave this to our sweet pittie diagnoised Dec 2019 but it was too late to save him but gave my daughter 90 days to love and care for him.
It was on every organ when found in emergency surgery and vet advised to let him during to surgery. I cried with her there and told her if he had a chance we would try any treatments.
I knew of the Yunnan from my chinese doctor and dear friend. He have brought it to us when DL had leg amputated Aug 2019.
We also did the mushrooms..
He stopped eating and his belly swelled until he could not lay down 3 months and one week, we made 90 min drive to the emergency and he was made comfortable and we spent his last 2 hours on the floor holding him as they help him cross over.

These mushrooms can be used prophylactically to prevent cancer. Don't wait until your dog gets cancer.

50% of dogs ten and older get cancer.

Just use a maintenance dose every day. Per the integrative vet. Just add to their regular food.
what about cats?

what about cats?
Good question. The vets I have talked with never mentioned cats. I'll see what I can find...

Found antioxipets.co.uk. "Turkey tail mushroom for cats." See my following comment #48.

And they recommend prophylactic treatment with this and other mushrooms for cats.

I'm on my phone so can't get that link over, but it looks like a good site for alternative treatments for pets and people.

Here's the link for cats:

Seasoned cat owners know that a cancer diagnosis can be one of the most devastating times in your pet's life. That being said, if you are going through this tumultuous experience, you might find relief in turkey tail mushroom.

Additionally, even if your kitty isn't dealing with a cancer diagnosis, you may be on the lookout for products that can keep them healthy and their immune systems strong, and a medicinal mushroom is a great way to do that!

There are many different medicinal mushrooms for cats with powerful holistic benefits, and turkey tail mushrooms could be just the thing your pet needs to help them feel better. If it sounds like something you might be interested in, keep reading below. We'll go over why turkey tail is a great option for many cats, and how it could be added to your pet's diet.

Be sure that, if you are trying a new supplement with your pet, you're keeping your veterinarian in the loop. They are the best person to consult when you have questions about your pet's health and can offer great advice in your search for a great turkey tail product.

WHAT IS THE TURKEY TAIL MUSHROOM?

Turkey tail mushrooms are named as such because of their turkey-tail-like appearance and have been used for centuries as a health supplement. In fact, the turkey tail mushroom got its start in traditional Chinese medicine to treat respiratory conditions and has been used for nearly 2000 years! This medicinal mushroom has been studied extensively and is known to provide powerful immune support, as well as antioxidant qualities!

Scientifically known as Trametes versicolor or Coriolus versicolor, this medicinal mushroom for cats (and many other species) is known for its cancer-fighting properties, which are supported by a significant number of clinical trials.

The reason that the turkey tail mushroom has become of such big interest for cancer therapy is due to the compounds it contains, which are polysaccharopeptide (PSP) and polysaccharaide-K (PSK), which are both known to inhibit the growth of cancer cells and tumors.

PSK has been shown to boost immune cell prosuctiin, ameliorate chemotherapy and radiotherapy side effects and enhance immune status.

In studies, PSP has been shown to significantly enhance immune status in 70-90% of patients with a variet of cancers.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN BENEFITS OF THE TURKEY TAIL MUSHROOM?

The cancer-fighting properties are not the only benefits of turkey tail. In fact, there are a multitude of reasons why the turkey tail mushroom can help your pet live a long, happy, and healthy life.

Antioxidant properties

Oxidative stress can wreak havoc on your kitty's body, causing them to age more quickly and even potentially promote cancer cell growth. This stress is caused by free radicals, but antioxidants can be used to inhibit the damage that they cause!

Most animals get antioxidants through their diet, or additional supplements. Turkey tail contains 35 different antioxidants, including phenols and flavonoids. Adding this medicinal mushroom to your cats diet can help them stay healthier longer!

Digestive Health

Turkey tail can also help your cat promote and maintain the healthy bacteria in their gut! The turkey tail mushrooms contain prebiotics that can help your kitty digest their food more easily.

Additionally, the prebiotics in this medicinal mushroom can help suppress harmful bacteria that might hurt your cat’s stomach.

Cancer Fighting Properties

As mentioned above, the turkey tail mushroom has been known to help fight cancer!

Several studies have shown that adding PSK, a compound found in turkey tail mushrooms, to chemotherapy treatments helps people (and even your pets) live longer!

Some studies have also shown that utilizing turkey tail for cats can help reduce the side effects of chemotherapy. Chemotherapy can be incredibly hard on the body for both humans and pets alike, thus it might be worthwhile to check whether turkey tail could be helpful for your pet.

Immune Health

Turkey Tail contains two Polysaccharopeptides: Krestin (PSK) and Polysaccharide Peptide (PSP).

In studies both PSK and PSP have shown to promote immune response by activating and inhibiting specific types of immune cells and by suppressing inflammation.

Studies have shown that PSP increases monocytes, which are types of white blood cells that fight infection and boost immunity.

PSK stimulates dendritic cells that promote immunity to toxins and regulate the immune response. In addition, PSK activates specialized white blood cells called macrophages, which protect your body against harmful substances like certain bacteria.

How Much Turkey Tail Does My Cat Need?

There are several different ways that you can give turkey tail mushrooms to your kitty. The most common way for your cat to take these medicinal mushrooms is through powder which you can find here.

For cats, you can simply add ½ tsp per 11kg, to their daily food.

Finally, you can also purchase turkey tail in capsule form. Sometimes, it can be hard to get your cat to take a capsule, especially if they're not feeling well. That being said, if this is the best option for you, then we do also have turkey tail capsules available on our “human” site here.

IS TURKEY TAIL SAFE FOR CATS?

In short, the answer is yes: turkey tail is safe for cats. That being said, as this is an extract and is therefore a lot more potent which of course is important when fighting disease and promoting overall immune health, there are some potential side effects that might affect your kitty until he./she gets used to the product.

The most common side effects are digestive issues, including diarrhea, gas, or bloating. Besides these, not much is known about the side effects of turkey tail mushrooms in cats.

Also, important to note, is to always start with a smaller dose to first ensure that your cat does not have a mushroom allergy. If you are concerned, the best thing to do is always to speak to your cats veterinarian.
