I understand that what I have been saying is uncomfortable but it IS ACTUALLY the simplest explanation available.

Within the Law and all the rules for an ACTOR (contractual rules) Alec did NOT violate any law or rules.

Sorry about how reality has impacted your belief system.

BREAKING:
All Criminal Charges Against Alec Baldwin Dropped By Santa Fe D.A. - NY Post
Pardon me for a moment.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Surprising me with the speed of the collapse, but not the outcome, it appears obvious that after all the prosecutorial dipshits who ramrodded this witch hunt lost interest and bailed out some weeks back, the flunkie assistant D.A. who caught the case has no great love for watching their own legal reputation blown to ****ing doll rags by Baldwin's defense attorneys, and has elected to get the **** outta Dodge, rather than face the High Noon courtroom showdown that would have ended their legal career.
Boo frickin' hoo.
All of the naysayers and online legal eagles, including a certain Branca-hole, can now bite my shiny metal ass.
Exactly as I told you ought to happen, because the midwit NM authorities in charge of this monumental cluster**** never had a legal leg to stand on, from the get-go, and the plea bargain by Dave Halls literally shot a gaping hole in their case before it ever got out of the starting blocks. {Not because of some mythical "let's not prosecute the washed-up second-rate movie star" clause in the NM state constitution.} The second biggest crime in this case was anyone ever indicting Baldwin for any crime, when it was clear within minutes who the actual culprits had to be, necessarily.
Exactly as we told you, and told you, and told you, and told you, and told you.
You can't charge someone with criminal negligence with neither a criminal act, nor any duty to be negligent in performing. No elements, no crime. QED
Not content to walk away, the D.A.'s office dropped the charges "without prejudice", probably hoping against reality to someday find or concoct some way not to look like enormous jackasses for filing those idiotic charges in the first place, and so as not to admit the obvious, and open themselves up to a yuuuuuuuge civil suit by Baldwin for false arrest and malicious prosecution, and end up paying him in the bargain. But unless they come up with Baldwin on video loading live rounds into his own gun while cackling like Senator Kneepads, and bragging while twirling the loaded gun on his finger that he was going to kill the whole camera crew, the chances of that are lower than the odds of Hunter Biden discovering a cure for cancer. And if they don't refile by Halloween 2024, the statute of limitations in NM will preclude any further legal action.
The worst thing anyone can pursue will be against the LLC as a whole, which, by definition, has no assets but a cheesy script, a half-completed movie, a cursed production, and a completion bond payout if it's not finished, and a claim against the profits (there won't be any) if it ever is, and gets released. (Ask Art Buchwald how that works.)
All of the Legion Of Butthurt, and those possessed of second-rate intellects, please enjoy a 12-foot-long party sub of Shit Sandwich, with my most extreme compliments.
If Reed, clearly and primarily the actual homicidal criminal in the trial, has the wits God gives any jackass, she'll rapidly plead guilty, take the lumps, and depart the film industry for the rest of her braindead life after prison, other than catching a flick on the tube waiting for her sentence to end, knowing to her grave that her colossal ignorance got an innocent person killed.
Baldwin, meanwhile, deserves all the karma on the planet for being the actor unlucky enough to be holding a prop mis-supervised by such a pair of criminal lackwits, which got cinematographer Hutchins killed, and with a body count as high as Teddy Kennedy, his voice and opinions on gun control are forever silenced. Better late than never.
Take that win in this case, and walk away, instead of trying to gold-plate the turd while holding it from the clean end.
Dulce et decorum est.

I'm actually in agreement with you on this. As much as I can't stand Alec Baldwin personally, I don't think he did anything wrong in this instance. He's an actor who was practicing one of his scenes, and the armorer--who was supposed to check all of the weapons beforehand--dropped the ball on this one, and Baldwin pulled the trigger on a loaded gun. He had no idea it was loaded; he was doing what he was supposed to do, and the neglect of another put him in a bad position.

He is guilty of never taking the safety course he was suppose to and rule one of guns, pointing a gun at someone. He shot the gun, and lied he never pulled the trigger. Bullets don’t leave the chamber on a 6 shooter without pulling a trigger. Even if the gunsmith had tweaked the trigger to 3 & 1/2 lbs of pressure, which is about as light as they can, you still have to use some strength to pull a trigger. Drop a handgun and it will never accidentally go off. He was the producer, checking everything for safety of his employees was his responsibility. He failed to keep his employees safe from harm.

There's been so much smoke blown on this one that nobody will ever know what really went down.

If the girl (the prop manager) goes to trial and has a competent lawyer, some of the actual evidence and background might come out, but her case going to trial does not serve the best interests of those in high places trying to cover their azzes.

BTW, now Baldwin will reap a huge profit from this film because people will want to see the scene that he was practicing for when the ‘accident/killing’ happened.

Life isn’t fair.

ACTUALLY, within the parameters, the ARMORER or PROPMASTER holds ALL of the responsibility because that is how theatrical/film/TV sets are organized. ACTORS have ZERO responsibility as they are contracted to ACT, and not to maintain the props.

If you have never PLAYED in THAT world, you are most certainly entitled to your UN-INFORMED opinion, but it will carry the same weight as your equally informed opinion on Quantum Mechanix as well as on how the various facets in the Hubble Telescope mirror work together across MULTIPLE light frequencies, from far infrared to X-ray.

I thought maybe they were going after him because he was also a producer and involved in the poor decisions made on the set, like prior safety complaints.

Nolte: Abusive Prosecutors Threaten to Refile Charges Against Alec Baldwin

Prosecutors say charges against left-wing actor Alec Baldwin “may be refiled” in the accidental shooting death of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

The big news Thursday was that just two weeks before a scheduled preliminary hearing, the involuntary manslaughter charges against Baldwin were dropped by prosecutors.

However, the dropping was a “without prejudice” filing, which means charges could be refiled, and in a statement released later in the day, the prosecutors made that clear:

Over the last few days and in preparation for the May 3, 2023, preliminary hearing, new facts were revealed that demand further investigation and forensic analysis in the case against Alexander “Alec” Rae Baldwin, III. Consequently, we cannot proceed under the current time constraints and on the facts and evidence turned over by law enforcement in its existing form. We therefore will be dismissing the involuntary manslaughter charges against Mr. Baldwin to conduct further investigation. This decision does not absolve Mr. Baldwin of criminal culpability and charges may be refiled. Our follow-up investigation will remain active and on-going.

The final sentence says it all: “This decision does not absolve Mr. Baldwin of criminal culpability and charges may be refiled. Our follow-up investigation will remain active and on-going.”

This is just outrageous.

To begin with, filing criminal charges against Baldwin was indefensible. What happened in October of 2021 was an accident. And it was not negligence. It was perfectly reasonable for Baldwin to believe the gun was safe and that no live rounds were anywhere near the Rust set. I’m not saying he could not have gone the extra mile to check the gun himself. I’m not saying he’s not a jerk. I’m not saying his behavior and statements post-shooting weren’t appalling and dishonest at times. That doesn’t change the fact it was reasonable for him to believe the gun was safe, which makes involuntary manslaughter charges an indefensible act of prosecutorial overreach.

In a way, though, dropping the charges and threatening to refile is just as bad.

At least through a trial, there would have been closure for Baldwin and his family. Baldwin almost certainly wasn’t going to do any prison time if found guilty, so this whole ordeal would have been behind him.

But now it’s still hanging over his head…and for how long? Possibly for the rest of his life. And so, the threat of it starting all over again hovers over his whole life, and that’s a terrible way to live. The prosecutors know that and obviously don’t want to allow Baldwin to move on, which strikes me as spite and prosecutorial abuse.

In this country, we hand prosecutors enormous power over We the People, the kind of discretion no other public figure enjoys. And as we have seen with George Soros puppet and fascist Alvin Bragg in Manhattan and now here in New Mexico, that power can be abused to persecute and terrorize.

Baldwin has probably already spent millions defending himself against these bogus charges. That’s how prosecutors punish someone without involving all that pesky due process. And now these same prosecutors are threatening to refile, which means Baldwin will probably continue paying legal fees. But there is no probably about the fact he must live with the relentless stress and strain of waiting for a rock to fly through his window.

This is not how things are supposed to work in America, not even for a jerk like Baldwin.

The charges against the armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, might also be dropped. But at least against her, given her direct responsibilities, I can see a case of involuntary manslaughter. That doesn’t mean she’s guilty. But it makes sense.

Pride comes before the fall.....Pride month ended.
He did have dinner with the women the night before........it was rumored she passed on his pass. If this is true, she may have been some sort of truth threat to him......he may of loaded the gun himself...prints on the shell case. Had to be someone's? If not, why, gloves? How about the remaining bullets? What came of this evidence?

Enquiring minds need to know. I have not yet enquired, fyi. I've given little attention to the details, nor have I heard them.

states he is "fixated on the annual cleaning of the acequias."

For those (like me) who've never heard of it--

this annual cleaning of irrigation ditches to enable farming and the "equitable distribution of water" has been elevated to a spring rite of gaia-nature worship and community love-fest of "woke" values: La cultura de la acequia madre: cleaning a community irrigation ditch

agreed.

UNLESS (and this is what some are suggesting)

he INTERFERED with the armorer's job--and PLANTED those real bullets.

Ever watch Perry Mason?

The episode where the circus clown shoots what's supposed to be a prop gun--

and murders someone?

Anyone remember the initial eye witness report before the final, sanitized version became canon?

Baldwin was showing his arse, point the gun at off screen people trying to be funny…

Anyone hear from the famous director or producer or whatever he is, who was also shot?

Too bad the camera wasn’t rolling at the time of the shooting… it just might have been…but we‘ll only get to know the official version.

Baldwin had 'no control' of self on fatal 'Rust' set: prosecutor
AFP

Alec Baldwin had “no control” over himself on the set of a film where a cinematographer was shot dead, according to the prosecutor who has charged him with manslaughter.

The A-lister was holding a Colt .45 during the preparation of a scene in the budget Western “Rust” when it went off, killing Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.

Baldwin, 66, is set to go on trial in New Mexico in July for involuntary manslaughter, a charge he denies.

In a court filing released Monday, prosecutor Kari Morrissey sketched the outlines of what the jury might hear, including how Baldwin’s allegedly unpredictable behavior contributed to the tragedy, and how he kept changing his story in its aftermath.

“Mr. Baldwin was frequently screaming and cursing at himself, at crew members or at no one and not for any particular reason,” Morrissey wrote.

“To watch Mr. Baldwin’s conduct on the set of ‘Rust’ is to witness a man who has absolutely no control of his own emotions and absolutely no concern for how his conduct affects those around him.

“Witnesses have testified that it was this exact conduct that contributed to safety compromises on set.”

The film’s young armorer, Hannah Gutierrez, who was responsible for loading the live round into the gun Baldwin used, was convicted last month of involuntary manslaughter after a two-week trial that heard how her lackadaisical approach to the job had led to a series of dangerous episodes.

The 26-year-old is due to be sentenced next week.

“The combination of Hannah Gutierrez’s negligence and inexperience and Alec Baldwin’s complete lack of concern for the safety of those around him would prove deadly,” Morrissey wrote.

In her filing, Morrissey said Baldwin, whose high-powered legal team includes eight attorneys, has repeatedly contradicted himself about the shooting in official interviews and in media appearances.

This has included a lengthy sit-down with ABC journalist George Stephanopoulos, which she called a “shameless attempt to escape culpability,” and in which he claimed for the first time that he had never pulled the trigger.

“Every time Mr. Baldwin spoke, a different version of events emerged from his mouth, and his later statements contradicted his previous statements.”

An FBI investigation found that the gun could not have fired if the trigger had not been pulled, evidence that is expected to be presented at trial.

The October 2021 tragedy sent shockwaves through Hollywood and led to calls for a complete ban on the use of weapons on movie sets.

Industry insiders, however, insisted that rules were already in place to prevent such incidents, and that those working on “Rust” had simply not followed them.

Baldwin is on bail awaiting trial.

If convicted, he faces up to 18 months in prison.

The filming of “Rust” concluded last year in the state of Montana, with Hutchins’ widower joining the crew as a producer.

No release date has yet been announced.
