FOOD Alabama School Districts Hit With Food Shortage, Warn Of Remote School Days

BN this is not me living in town as a kid...I was talking about my dad when he grew up during the Depression in SW Oklahoma.

I grew up in Bloomington, Minnesota and was 2 1/2 when the folks built our family home on 1 1/3 acre. It was almost as far south as Bloomington went and we were surrounded by lots of empty fields and a small dairy farm. We had a monstrous (to me) garden for several years, divided from a big fifteen tree orchard by a long row of concord grapes. I was the oldest of eight children, the second and fifth of which are gone now, as are both of my parents.

Things may have gotten a little grim at times when I was a kid, but my dad always had a steady job and we never went hungry.
