This too shall pass.
Here and there we are seeing reports of the good things that are still happening, and I thought it would be nice to have a thread just for those. If you know of someone who has gone out of their way to help others during this time, please share! (I’ve always thought that a lot of the apocalyptic fiction was too gloomy.)
Here are a few acts of kindness that I know about.
One of my granddaughter’s has been babysitting a single so-worker’s children several hours a week, for free, so the mom can still work after the daycare closed.
Another granddaughter let co-workers have her hours at work, because she is still living at home and can survive without the job for a while (this was after discussing it with her mother and step-father).
Of course, there are all the people sewing cloth masks at home to be donated - a friend is doing that. I had planned to, but have been preoccupied with my daughter’s medical issues.
Another friend (local) who struggles to make ends meet informed me the other day that she had stocked up on some food items for us. I laughed and told her I have eggs for her, and some of my extra chicks will be for her if she’s still stuck at home when they start laying - she’s on the road all the time for work, so we’ll have to see if her work comes back.
And a neighbor from church has checked in on us.
Share your stories of people being kind and helping one another, please!
