The footage of Austin Metcalf’s killing, which has not been released to the public, shows no “physical confrontation” between Metcalf and Karmelo Anthony before Anthony fatally stabbed him, according to the Texas Bureau Chief for the Daily Mail.

If true, this contradicts Anthony’s account that he was acting in self-defense and indicates that Anthony attacked Metcalf without physical provocation.

If true, someone has some ‘splaing to do. I thought it was odd how quiet the defense lawyers had become. Looks like they won’t get an innocent verdict, they’re just trying to keep him off death row.

I agree that Karmelo Anthony needs to go away for a very long time!!!! Austin's brother did say that there was a verbal confrontation prior to the stabbing between Karmelo and Austin - not that such warranted a stabbing.

I agree. A friend was murdered by her husband in early 1960s and every time I think about it, I hope the scum is still alive and in prison. My foster son was murdered last year and the trial for the scum that killed him starts next month. We are hoping he gets life without parole.

Praying for the family of the young man killed.

He can claim self defense but apparently a video of the incident shows no physical contact between the two until Karmelo took out the knife and stabbed the football player. That’s not going to fly.

When I pole vaulted back in the early '70's for my high school, a large hunting knife was required equipment
when running down the runway to hit the box for my vault.

Looking at his picture and listening to his family speak, it feels like they do not even comprehend the gravity of the situation. You took a life for no reason. And then the excuse - self defense. And he was a good boy with good grades. Everything except, Karmelo brought a knife and murdered someone who had done nothing to him. And when he goes to prison, he and his family will only have a faint understanding of why. As one of ours wrote many times, avoid.

Yeah... they are delusional, and probably always have been. Those "good grades"? They were in the range of 1.2 to 1.4. That ain't "good" under any known grading system in this universe! I'm guessing Karmelo is functionally illiterate...

BREAKING: Karmelo Anthony submitted an Indigent Packet to the Collin County Court, requesting court-appointed legal representation as an indigent (financially destitute) defendant.

However, just 24 hours ago, the Anthony family updated their GiveSendGo campaign to reflect a need to raise an additional $1.4 million for “a legal team.”

Karmelo Anthony’s mother, Kala Hayes, who manages the GiveSendGo, stated on April 17th (two months ago) that they had just gained access to the funds. At that time, they had already raised $350,000. The fundraiser has now reached $538,000.

According to a source, their current known attorney, Mike Howard, is more than likely charging a retainer fee of $10,000–$30,000 and charges $400–$500 per hour.

Where did the money go? Why do they need $1.4 million? Will they be granted indigence and an appointed attorney with a GiveSendGo of this magnitude? Is this considered fraud?

GiveSenGo money means they are not indigent. If they’ve spent the money they still had it within a reasonable amount of time that it should be included in an accounting of assets. Indigent status means that he gets a court appointed lawyer, not a “legal team”. Even at $500/hour, $500,000+ should have been more than sufficient to get that party started.

The shooting is being investigated by members of the Attorney General's Office, New Hampshire State Police, and the Keene Police Department.

ORANGE, Mass. (WWLP) – A Massachusetts teenager has died after a shooting in a New Hampshire parking lot.

The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office states that on Wednesday, a shooting occurred in a parking lot on Winchester Street in Keene. When law enforcement officers arrived, 17-year-old Christian Walker, of Orange, Massachusetts, was found with an apparent gunshot wound. Walker was taken to Cheshire Medical Center where he died.
An autopsy was performed on Walker’s body, and the cause of death was ruled to be a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. The manner of death was ruled a homicide.

All parties involved in the shooting have been identified, and there is no threat to the public at this time.
