Had to make another trip to Dallas to day - regular was $2.54 to $2.60/ per gallon. I bought at $2.54 and on 11/18/22 I bought fuel at $2.78 - a drop of $0.24 per gallon in 11 days.

In Okieland, regular costs $2.91 to $2.97 per gallon. I bought fuel for $3.35 - a decrease of $0.44 per gallon. Cost of fuel in Okieland is $0.19 per gallon more than in Texas.

How long will this go on before fuel prices go back up???

Yep...I mentioned on another thread that on Monday in N MN (little farm/mill/Rez town) I paid $2.88/gal (unleaded reg). but same morning in the larger (tourist gouging) town 15 miles away, it was still $3.44.

My only conclusion can be that demand is way down. People are pulling back.
Seems I read somewhere that the diesel supply is catching up a bit now, too.

been wondering about this “falling gas prices” stuff . . . suspect that its being done to help stimulate the holly DAZE buying binge. Betting they will skyrocket following the annual “HOW FAR INTO UNNECESSARY DEBT CAN I GET MYSELF” excess. I can’t be the only one who questions the veracity of all the reportedly RECORD BREAKING spending. I’m calling bullshit on it

$4.08 for diesel yesterday. (still chaps my ass)

Might break under $4.00...undoubtedly a temporary condition.

It will spike again, like a kick to the 'nads.

What you are seeing is the collapse of the economy.

People are not working, they are being taken off the rolls in order to keep numbers looking good.

Demand for gas is dropping and will continue to drop until either the powers that be, decide they need more revenue or people decide to go to work / vacation

part of it may be that the op is closer to the refinery and they are sending gas there instead of driving it north or to other locations......

US companies added just 127,000 jobs in November as hiring slows

Private payroll job growth rose slower than expected in November, evidence that the historically hot labor market is finally starting to cool off, according to the ADP National Employment Report released Wednesday morning.

Companies added just 127,000 jobs last month, missing the 200,000 gain that economists surveyed by Refinitiv had predicted.

"Turning points can be hard to capture in the labor market, but our data suggest that Federal Reserve tightening is having an impact on job creation and pay gains," said Nela Richardson, chief economist at ADP. "In addition, companies are no longer in hyper-replacement mode. Fewer people are quitting and the post-pandemic recovery is stabilizing."

The Fed has responded to the inflation crisis and the extremely tight labor market by raising interest rates at the fastest pace in decades. Officials approved four consecutive 75-basis-point rate hikes in June, July, September and November and have shown no signs of pausing.

The data precedes the release of the more closely watched November jobs report on Friday morning, which is expected to show that employers hired 200,000 workers following a gain of 261,000 in October. The unemployment rate is expected to hold steady at 3.7%.

see, but the narrative will shift to this being great news cuz the FED can now "ease" interest rate increases

I paid $2.62 yesterday. Diesel was $4.68. That was on the southern end of KC. If I buy it where I live gas is $3.20...rat bas**rds. At least when I go to work, I can buy it where it is cheap.
