Has No Life - Lives on TB
Steve Harris, a student of Cresson Kearny, has been adding some good side-bar commentary to more recent editions.

When things get spicy in a canned sunshine way, and people are in a panic and either can’t get a copy of NWSS or have time to read 200+ pages, that’s for whom I wrote the quick read of what to do & not do here…

Is the new update worth the money if you have the older ones?

Cresson Kearny passed away a number of years ago, in fact about a month before I was planning to meet with him at his CO ranch during my FEMA days. I was working with the "Saferooms for Schools" design criteria team with FEMA Mitigation after the big 1999 OK/KS tornado outbreak. I wanted to tap his brain about sheltering pitfalls for large groups, e.g., school-sized groups.

Probably no significant changes to the NWSS basics of sheltering other than better tech for filtering/ventilation and batteries that I can think of. Since we haven't done any testing of shelters that I'm aware of since above ground testing was halted, only computer modeling not real tests can be conducted. Beside NWSS is for when you have little to no resources and need to one build fast. Dr Art Robinson at OISM.org had led a charge to get civilian sheltering re-established back in the Reagan era, only to have no traction.

Good to prep - manuals, books and gear. But in the end it is a bit a roll of the dice.
New missiles are accurate to a few meters - smaller warheads - specific targets.
Naturally if you are in the target area ZERO you can do.
For others it will be all about how the WIND is blowing that day - random roll of the dice.
A few miles 20+ from the blast and you may get Zero fallout or Lethal
Naturally it is the failure of power, water, medical, and food days and weeks later that will kill more than the nukes.

Well the way the US keeps telling Russia and China we want to go to war with them - we may all find out how good our preps are.
