It’s beyond a “homeless” thing for me. Where else can we go where we can basically talk about anything without fear of banishment or doxxing? Where we know that our posts won’t be censored. Where we as a group determine our “community standards”.

There are a number of other forums that could learn a thing or two from this place. Instead of begging for money monthly and laying a guilt trip on people just be upfront about what you need to run the place and do a yearly fundraiser. It's over in a few weeks without all the arm twisting and cajoling. If the forum provides value to the members they support it. If not then maybe there is a different problem afoot.

Anything that could be bought to bring down ongoing costs, etc.

What I’d LIKE to do is buy one “extra” hard drive a year. These SSD drives tend to die without warning, and I’d like to have some spares. HOWEVER - the capacities keep going up and the prices down, so “buying ahead” is kind-of a losing game. We have 512 GIGS of DDR4 ECC RAM (max of a terabyte IIRC), but we’re not using most of what we have now.
I really can’t think of anything. In a couple years, depending on price/capacity, I’d like to start laying in the next gen of hard drives, in order to raise our capacity. But not yet.

Sorry, just wanted to say, I forgot to take it to town with me when I went and then I got sick after I posted this.
I hope to feel up to getting into town tomorrow, but I do have cash in a stamped envelope and it is just waiting for me to take it.
