Both LASD deputies shot in Compton ambush released from hospital; manhunt continues for suspect
The female deputy who was shot in Compton on Sept. 12 has been released from a hospital, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reports. The male deputy was released from a hospital on Wednesday.

Los Angeles, CA – Two Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies were shot in their heads in an apparent ambush attack Saturday night.
Fox11 reporter Bill Melugin reports that the two deputies were sitting in a vehicle when they were both ambushed and shot in the head at the Compton PAX station.
The suspect is still at large, according to ABC7 reporter Leanne Suter.
No suspect information has been released at this time.
Both deputies were transported to the hospital.
The conditions of the deputies has not been released.

I have just been sent surveillance video of the shooting and can confirm it is 100% an ambush. Man slowly creeps up to the vehicle like he’s stalking it, fires shots through the window, then flees the scene.I will not post any of the video until given approval to do so.

After two deputies were shot and left in critical condition Saturday night, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department released surveillance footage that appears to show the shooting.
In the seven-second clip, a person in dark-colored clothing walks up to a sheriff’s patrol vehicle and raises his arm, appearing to fire into the vehicle multiple times. The department said the suspect remains at large while the two severely wounded deputies are undergoing surgery.
Officials said the deputies, one male and the other female, were ambushed as they sat inside their patrol vehicle. They both suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
In a tweet just before 8 p.m., sheriff’s officials said the deputies were shot just “moments” earlier.
“They are both still fighting for their lives, so please keep them in your thoughts and prayers,” the tweet read.
No other details have been released.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that they were both shot in the head.
LASD deputies have been targeted by Black Lives Matter protests, as well as self-described anarchists and Antifa supporters, since the shooting death of a black man, Dijon Kizzee, earlier this month.
Kizzee allegedly fought with police who tried to pull him over for a bicycle infraction. He allegedly had a gun at the time of the confrontation.
Nightly protests, many of them violent, have taken place outside the LASD facility in South Los Angeles.
