Azure HQ Destroyed by Fire, No Injuries
The headquarters of Azure Standard, the nation's premier independent distributor of organic and healthy food, was destroyed by fire overnight. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation. The loss of the facility and the impact on company-wide operations is being assessed and expected to be limited and temporary. No other Azure Standard facilities were affected.

Well d☆MN, there goes my end of April order. Nothing I can live without, just adding to my "stores"...
From the OP, it's just the HQ that burnt down, so it shouldn't affect their warehousing and shipping unless they didn't have offsite computer backup data (for inventory, billing, customers, etc.). Even the little oil company I worked for had backup data at the end of every day and the IT guy would take them home with him. A big company like Azure should have at least a couple backup servers offsite.

The skeptic in me immediately winders if this is part if a movement against people like us. I think we're more likely to be interested in long term healthy diets than many & this might cause us some slight grief.

Just a random thought, as so many of mine are.

A few months ago Ireland's only organic yogurt factory which supports like 5,000 farmers that otherwise would not be able to produce organic milk mysteriously burned to the ground.

I nominated the company for one of Catherine Austin Fitz's "heroes of the week" because they managed to keep paying their suppliers to keep them afloat while things were rebuilt.

I'm sorry but that fire really "smelled" to me, dairy is big business in Ireland and Organic is new on the scene and they get a lot more money for their products.

I am not honestly sure who or what caused that fire but it quickly was out of the headlines, to the point where I did wonder "who benefited?"

A major organic distributor in the US that would be in direct competition with all those horrible over-processed bags of sugar-starch-fat-carbs that the Big Food Industry produces, suddenly catching fire; especially at the start of serious supply chain issues, well to me this also "smells"...

Yeah, this sounds minimal. Not worth breathing into a paper bag.

Again folks if you haven’t already you need to be sourcing food products locally. Learn what’s produced in your area and build those relationships with the farmers and producers. I am afraid we are soon approaching a time where local may be our only choices. Learn what’s available and either stock up on something you can only get from afar or start learning ways to do with out so as to minimize the hardship of doing with out. Goes for supplements too.

We just had one of the few USDA butchers around us burn over in NH. This is will be tough for the local folks who sell at farmers markets because of the tight scheduling in other shops. Not sure where those scheduled there will take thereanimals in the near future.
It’s gonna come down to buying the animal
On the hoof or raise it and butcher your own.
It’s no different than a deer just bigger.
We have always butchered our own until the last one we had butchered out of convenience.
If you make a mistake making a cut throw it in the grinder and make ground.
If you are planning to gear up up for it better buy the butchering equipment while you can still get it.

Brad's latest Full Spectrum video being discussed in comments, many of his Oregon viewers received emails they cannot get orders completed. Really a shame as members in the past here praised them as a good resource.

I believe this is a paraphrased blurb off local radio, can't find anything on the wires yet. no link:

Over on the iceage farmer telegram group they are saying there has been triple digit food related facilities having fires. That was a comment after the notice was posted, supposedly there is a list but I haven't found it so far.

One of our local Walmart's had part of the roof in the warehouse cave in and then someone tried to set it on fire. Now they have all of the clothing section walled off.

Right now with the shortages, I don't see the benefit in sabotaging competitors. Even with all companies producing food, they're not keeping up with demand so burning a competitor's facility would not benefit their business.

Today's Facebook post from Azure Standard; love this company:

(BTW, my dining room table is covered with their starts right now and all are doing great; I had to repot some because they have grown so much in two weeks, but I think we're done with overnight freezes so they should be going out soon.)

We're so grateful for the outpouring of supportive messages in the last 24 hours. We're literally overwhelmed with your kindness. If we don't respond to every note, please know we're reading them all and again, filled with gratitude for all of you.

Yesterday, after the fire, one of our team was wanting to talk to
founder & CEO David Stelzer - instead of finding him in a
stressed or downcast mood - they found him in a green house
doing what he loves, getting plant starts ready to be shipped to
you. Our hope and faith is certain so we're moving ahead and
meeting the challenges with an abundant attitude. Your prayers
are making a difference!

While we're on the subject, Tomato Starts are ready to be
shipped! Get your organic, non-GMO garden off to an amazing
start and check out these plant starts direct from Azure:

Wow! Anyone here keeping a spreadsheet on food producers/silos/warehouses destroyed since covid? Would love to share with DGI family.
in one word ....yes ...

155 arty, can you post that spreadsheet, or list? Or send it to me? Or PM me a way to get/find your list?

I'm trying to find this event. Can you give me a few more details to help me try to find an article/thread on it? Or if you know of an article/thread on it, please post it. Thanks.

I'm working on a list for the other thread...

Canadian Prepper is saying the same thing on his Youtube channel. Said the news was coming from a large freeze dried food place . The only one I can think of off-hand is Mountain House who a few days ago said that they were temporarily suspending sales (or something like that)
