How to watch President Joe Biden's first 2022 press conference

President Biden is holding his first press conference of 2022 on Wednesday, January 19, the eve of the first anniversary of when he took office. The press conference comes as his presidency — and the country — is struggling amid the Omicron COVID-19 surge and rising inflation, and as his signature legislation, Build Back Better, is stalled in Congress.

CBSN will carry Mr. Biden's press conference live.

A CBS News poll released Sunday showed that 50% of Americans are "frustrated" by his presidency so far, followed by 49% who are "disappointed" and 40% who are nervous. Just 25% said they are "calm" and 23% said they are "satisfied."

Mr. Biden's overall approval rating is 44%, a drop from the approval rating in the 60s at the start of his presidency. His approval fell after the Afghanistan withdrawal, sagged as inflation and COVID cases rose and has not rebounded.

Wednesday's press conference will be the 10th of his presidency so far, a number lower than his predecessors. The White House often points out that Mr. Biden frequently takes questions from reporters in less formal settings, such as during various televised briefings and upon departures. But the White House Correspondents Association argues the best way to know what's on the president's mind is to hold more frequent and organized opportunities where reporters from a variety of outlets can ask questions.

Be careful what you wish for.... This could become SO bad that it generated a 25th challenge or an impeachment.....

The media might welcome that circus at this point...

This could be entertaining. Unless it's the shouting " angry Joe" .

There's at least a 30% chance he starts taking off his shoes and throwing them at reporters...

I'm thinking the "calm" 25% are medicated & "satisfied" 23% have been getting their Kool-Aid by IV (I guess that's medicated too after a fashion).

The big question is - how long before he starts yelling at everybody?
Getting awful close to sundowning time, that late in the day.

Yep...I plan to watch, AND break out the good stuff. The country is a sinking ship...might as well toast it one more time.

I'd like to know the street value of the drugs they pump into his body to keep him stumbling through these events, over the course of a month or so.

Depending on which Joe they use, of course.

I can hardly wait for his State of the Union address March 1st! :prfl:
THAT might be must-see TV.

I don't think he can do it. Even if he doesn't fall up the steps to the podium, he has to make it through at least 40 minutes, which would be a fairly short SOTU.

I just don't think he can do it.

This could be the tragic death scene. My script writers want to wait until the SOTU address, yet some ass has spoken up and said time is short. They’re still arguing about it.

Actually not that far out of a possibility particularly when you consider what the stuff they're likely pumping him up with does to your blood pressure.

day late

Being the history nerd that I am this reminds me of a thing I once saw about Hitler's addictions. There was one time he was filmed answering the bedroom door first thing in the morning. He looked like a poor case of embalming. His doctor entered the room and closed the door. When Hitler came out a few minutes later, he was bright-eyed, bushy-tailed and had all the energy of a twenty-year old. Of course, by the end of the war the drugs were about the only thing keeping him on his feet and his mind was totally shot.

Hmmm, I wonder how long Bidet's doctor has been with him?

I read an article this morning that said that his team has decided the way to combat his falling poll numbers is to have him talk more directly to the American people. Personally, I found that hilarious! Do they really not understand how stupid he sounds when he talks?
